After watching the Jacksonville and NC game Saturday I’m not worried. Both top 25 teams and they were very sloppy. Last years Cats could hang with both of those teams although Jacksonville has a stought D line

As much fun as it is to troll the group, especially a couple of guys who get way to serious, don’t let it be at the expense of a player. CB spins the ball like nobody I’ve seen at MSU for a while. It’s going to take some time to get him, the team and the game plan ready for a drastic departure from the last 3 years offensive strategy. I have no doubt that when his time comes, Choate will have the tools and plan in place to make it work.
Till then I can’t wait for the heartburn that will be caused by TA and TJ on the field and Kassis dropping bombs to them out of the backfield. How would you like to be the linebacker drawing that coverage detail?

I wonder what Choate will do if we go say 8-3 this year but TA is only an average passer. I think he will be better than that but do you think Choate looks to move to Rovig or Bauman in that case. I think he likes the running QB more than he likes to admit and will ride that hoss as long as he can.

One thing we know about Choate after opening up the QB competition after last season is that every position is up for grabs at all times. The best players will play, as it should be, and that's the way it should be at all schools, yet it's not always the case.

A little off topic, but kind of not. Anybody watch the Wyoming/NMSU game? Wyoming made NMSU look like they where running into a wall for the first 50 minutes.

Something like 2 first downs and 9 yards rushing in the first half. Maybe I’m remembering wrong and it was negative yardage in the first half.

*****I know NMSU is one of the worst every year.

I’m hoping for a statement made this Thursday that channels a little Craig Bohlness.

It was negative yards. Wyoming is going to have one of the best group of 5 Ds in the country. Their line closed every running lane the second the ball was snapped and were all over NMSUs QBs. If we look half as stout I'll be thrilled.

We can't be 8-3 overall, fyi. we'd have at least one playoff game with that record.

I’m pretty sure Jack Rolovich, Cory Carpenter, and Kody Kempt would be a 1a in this lineup. Am I the only one who is frustrated that we seemingly have made little progress at the qb position since Choate arrived? I hope To be proven wrong.
My thoughts on a former RB/LB starting the next year at QB: where in the hell have you ever seen that happen in a Division 1 football program? Never. It never happens for a reason. I'm sorry, but unless the Cats go option, I cannot see it being successful in a whole season and to think otherwise is to be delusional or that Andersen is a Golden God! Maybe he is, but ask me in late October but I don't think this will work....
MSU will do well to win 2-3 games this year tbh. I’m surprised Choate didn’t re-vamp the whole offense around Bauman. He’s the only legit QB in the group. LB is ugly. If you’re only as strong as your weakest link, then the D is in rough shape.
The phuck is wrong with u people .... what kind of posts are these?? More chronic 1990s-style Bobcat defeatism from chumps that don't get it.

None of you have been paying attention over the past 2 years.

We'll do well to LOSE 2 -3 game this year I think you mean!

This place is hilarious. Tom spends the entire fall telling everyone on here that TA is a much better Qb than people are giving him credit for and no one even notices. Then he posts one smartass comment and people snap to. We have replies like this one, speculation that he is trolling(he’s not), and a suggestion he’s being facetious(BINGO!!!). TC88 is as high on the Cats as anyone including TA at QB.

We can be 8-3 overall because we have an 11 game schedule. WIU, SDSU, Wagner, PSU, EWU, Idaho, Weber, ISU, Cal Poly, UNC, and the Jizzlies.

He means we would play 12 cause with 8 wins we would most likely have to make the playoffs. My point was just saying if we had a really solid team year but the QB play was lackluster(at least throwing the ball) would Choate really shake things up next year or stay with the status quo?

Not reading his previous posts on the QB position, how is anyone supposed to know he's joking? Especially when he calls out Baumann specifically? Looks like his trolling worked, though, as it's now the topic of the thread.

It appears Tom has watched too many episodes of South Park. Looks like he was part of the Sarcastiball episode. Where they turned football into a game using a balloon and players hugged each other instead of tackling.

I certainly don't read everything on here but it was stupidly obvious that Tomcat was being a smart ass in that post, for gawd sake.

Plus, if you look at the time of the post, there is a high probability of "sarcasm enhancer" in Tom's system!
