I honestly think that with Chambers and Swogger on board, and with Hilliard in the backfield, that the Griz have the best team in the BSC on paper. Will they be healthy? Will they gel? Will their defense improve (I think it will)?grizgirl wrote:OK, you can say that, but drop the shovel pass jokes.catamaran wrote:According to Griz logic we now have a strong armed passer and a Pac-10 receiver....Chatty here we comeI agree. All things considered, I don't see a lot of difference between Swogger and Rolovich or Chambers and Jefferson. It should be a dog fight next year.
A lot can change between now and then, but in my mind, it doesn't hurt me at all for Griz fans to start "expecting" to go to Chattanooga.

I would say that in 2004, when we made the championship game, our offense met expectations.mslacat wrote:Can someone tell if Griz coach Hauck has ever had an offence that has out preformed expectaions........ how about meet expectations.HelenaCat95 wrote:I honestly think that with Chambers and Swogger on board, and with Hilliard in the backfield, that the Griz have the best team in the BSC on paper. Griz fans, all fans for that matter, are entitled to their opinion. But if you consider the Griz national championship contenders, then the Cats should be considered national championship contenders as well.
Looking at 2005 as a base, neither team won a playoff game and the Bobcats soundly defeated the Grizzlies in a head to head matchup.
On offense in 2006, the Griz will have a new QB and main receiving target, a solid RB and several new starters on their offensive line. The Bobcats will have a new QB and main receiving target, a solid RB and fewer new starters on their offensive line.
On defense, the Griz return several key playmakers from a very good unit. The Bobcats return several key playmakers from a very solid unit.
The talent gap UM enjoyed 10 years ago is simply not there anymore.

Griz lose in first round of playoffs. Fans claim season met expectations, considering the number of transfers on the team.
Griz athletic department, citing ongoing budget deficit, buys out entire Big Sky Conference and schedules 12 home games for 2007.

You will find out in 2006 what its like to have a young QB. The playbook is a lot smaller. As much as I hate to say it LULU was something special, now you just have, well something...mslacat wrote:Can someone tell if Griz coach Hauck has ever had an offence that has out preformed expectaions........ how about meet expectations.HelenaCat95 wrote:I honestly think that with Chambers and Swogger on board, and with Hilliard in the backfield, that the Griz have the best team in the BSC on paper. Enjoy it while it lasts...because I believe that expectations that are too high can be the downfall of the program. And expecting to go the NC every year, and not having a successful season if you don't, are too high of an expectation.Go Scats Go wrote:Thats the difference between Missoula and Bozo.HelenaCat95 wrote:Really.....if the Griz don't go to the NC, they have not had a successful season.
Just my opinion....not meant as smack.

Excellent post. Although, this year, I think they will claim that we photoshopped the win for MSU.Cat in SoDak wrote:Griz lose to Cats. Claim SprinTurf sabotage as main cause of defeat.Swilly3224 wrote:Griz win 06 championship
