Believe Bemiller 49 is addressing not all the commits talked to coach before he returned to WA late Friday or early Saturday.

THat woud be correct. Visiting the closer ones makes sense. But a phone call that was promised to all recruits that doesnt happen.

Sorry to hear that. Hope Opland remans committed, and uses that as motivation as the future. Like you said, busy week, and he couldn't visit them all, but i understand the disappointment for sure

Was guessing so.

Hopefully a reasonable explanation. Would have a hard time believing it's intentional.

There wasn't really an expectation of a visit, but would have been amazing. But he was contacted briefly by a position coach letting him know that a call was coming this week from the HC. Wonder if this happened to others? Just looking for that reach out letting him know that he is a fit. Nothing more, nothing less.

The dude had a coaching staff and other affairs to get in order so if he missed some guys you can't really fault him I'd say. I'm sure the guys he missed will be called when he wraps up in Washington.

Says the guy that isn't relying on this for his future. I said that I understand that he is busy. These next few months are going to be ridiculous. Just saying it is not a good way to start when promises are made then broken. These are 18 yr old kids trying to figure out their future. If there is time for visits, there is time for a 10 minute phone call.

And as usual. This is not the place to get the problem solved.

Just relaying the disappointment of a recruit on the recruiting thread. I am done now. Just had to get it off my chest. Not like crazier and worse things have not been said in this forum. It is what it is. And I would like Benson to commit.

While I recognize that this is a nervous and tense time in a young man's life, I'd suggest that patience is and understanding will be useful to his benefit.

My guess is Choate had to make one hell of a sales pitch to Alexander late last week which occupied a significant amount of time.

If Pitre called, I'd take it as a good sign. Not so much forgotten, but sometimes major stuff comes up and it's difficult to get to everything a person intends to. I'd guess you'll be getting that visit just as soon as the dead period is over.

Exactly. And unnamed recruit could call assistant coach and voice his concerns.

I think he must have meant Benson. WHo would be an amazing get! I wonder if a college strength coach could help him with his leg issues.

I think Coach Choate was pretty clear what the first couple weeks would look like. And that involved working the phones heavy, contacting recruits from Washington after he headed back there to finish his obligations. I think its a little unreasonable to expect him to have hit all corners of the state, visit every recruit, meet with and talk with all the existing players, look for a house, contact coaches and put together most of his staff......all in about a week. Between existing players, staff and recruits I'm sure we're talking hundreds of phone calls and meetings as it was. And if he screwed up and promised something he couldn't keep to particular people, hopefully he learns something from it.

Any body have any incite on if a college strength coach could help Benson get past his leg issues? Not sure if it is a strength issue or a cronic thing.

One recruit that has flown under the radar a little bit has been Kyle Finch out of Dillon. He was a star of the MSU Summer Camp last year and he had an outstanding senior season, splitting the defensive MVP of the Southwestern Conference with Butte Central's Kyle Schulte (another good prospect). I have already talked about Kyle but if you want to watch his tape again, watch his technique and how assignment sound he plays on the outside as a defensive end/linebacker. He doesn't quite have the speed to play LB at the next level but he has the frame to develop into a great defensive end. Also, you can tell he is strong for his age. He pops blockers every time he engages and gets off blocks. He has been pursued by the Griz because I believe he is a Griz fan (and a good player) but Coach Armstrong started to follow him on twitter and Kyle followed back. I know we already have two good defensive end/linebacker recruits in Jobman and Marks but Kyle is my darkhorse "future best player" in this class. His tape again:

Here is what Colter wrote about him at the camp last summer:
Kyle Finch, Dillon — I first caught site of Finch because I was watching Marks. Finch stood out right away. He’s much faster and explosive than Marks, who’s already committed to the ‘Cats. Finch was overshadowed in the Southwestern A last season by Butte Central defensive end and future Bobcat Marcus Ferriter and Corvallis defensive end and future Montana Grizzly Jesse Simms. But Friday, Finch showed great burst off the line, a good use of his hands, an explosive playing style and quickness necessary because of his less than stout frame. He’s got long arms and a high waist, an ideal frame for a future pass rushing defensive end to grow into. He also plays with a high motor, something that really stood out Friday.
Right now, I see him as a preferred walk-on much like Ferriter last year but he has tremendous upside as a pass rusher. Also, you will see that Colter compares him to Marks and Colter is right that Marks is not as fast or explosive. However, Marks is bigger than Kyle at this stage and more versatile because he was a great tight end as well. Marks just has to get stronger (which happens in college) because he has a bigger frame than Kyle.
