I realize that Ms. Stearns has to play-up all the colleges in Montana.....but that quote seems "not factual". Especially considering all the data previously posted.

One would understand Stearn's consternation were they to recall she got her bachelor's, master's and doctorate from dUMb. As far as jag's comments--he's just a carroll by-product on the football bandwagon from that other place yet he doesn't feel any regret cashing his checks from MSU

Standardized tests, however, are not the only measurement of Montana's best and brightest students, said James McKusick, dean of UM's Davidson Honors College. Those tests don't measure artistic flair. Some of UM's top students excel in dance, art and creative writing, he said.

"They may or may not fair well on the ACT, but we sure want them at the University of Montana," McKusick said.

"My boy? How's he doin' at the 'U? Boy's a helluva dancer, I can say that much."

Possibly. But your record as a zebra for I recall a basketball tournament during the time Brand Robinson was in Manhattan when Opheim played Frazer. Never saw such blatant bias by an officiating crew to ensure Frazer had more points than Opheim. You continually come into this among other sites and belittle your rival and/or overcompensate defending the school that threw the diploma in the window when you drove through Missoula once in 71 and again in 76. At least Georgia has the backbone to suspend offials and ensure none of this occurs within their schools:

Both are good schools, and both sides realize that. Of course were gonna take some shots at our rival, and of course our rival is gonna come on here and defend themselves. It's the nature of a rivalry.

You might want to go back and check your facts. Last year, UM had 62M in external grant funds. MSU has always led the way in that area, however given that MSU is the land grant school for Montana....that is as expected.

By god you are correct! Sorry about that, it was in the link I originally posted. There they are at 171. 2007 was the latest information I could find on research funding.

I generally agree with you about most matters on here but you need to be more objective about the whole cat/griz thing. I am sure it hurts when facts relating to the academics of the two institutions come to light. It's hard to put a positive spin on it so you couch it as childish "My University can beat up your University".

I hope you're just having fun with this, but as you did with wbtfg I have to ask for clarification. Do you argue cases in front of a judge and jury? I don't know much about lawyerin', so I'm guessing you do. When you tell people to go f--k themselves are you doing that with a smile on your face or are you pissed? When you say that cute little brain is it because you are losing your composure or is that just a subtle dig? I mean I hope your taking this lightly or, if not, that you don't have the same temperment in court that you have in this thread.

Some advice: If you are getting rattled I suggest watching some of the shows on ESPN where the sport reporters argue their points with each other, but mostly keep a smile on their face while doing it. No matter how well written your posts on a message board are they lose strength (people cease to read what you're writing and focus on the tone) when you sound upset. Use the smilies to let people know that you realize the board isn't a life or death situation for you.

The reason you had to go back and explain your point (such an inconvienience that it is) is because you had to ask for clarification on something that most (not many, but most) people don't need. You were trying to take what he said "many" and imply that he might be saying "most" or "more than" when it was all but obvious he wasn't. You'd do well to save that kind of BS for the courtroom. It often works there.
