Chester was flipping the channels last night and he wanted to check in on the Lakers-Suns game to see how his fellow MSU hommies (Brown for the Lakers and Richardson for the Suns) where doing. When TNT come back from a commercial, they showed the Staples Center from above and one could see the 110 (Harbor Fwy) in the picture. This jolted Chester's memory to a fun weekend he had many many years ago visiting a friend in LA. The friend just bought a new Porsche Boxster and Chester was granted the honor of the wheel. Chester hit this stretch of the 110 and passed by the Staples Center at 122mph (at about 230am) for his all-time personal best.
So what is the fastest Chesters fellow BN'ers have driven?

115 through Wolf Creek Canyon to Great Falls as a passenger. I've never owned a vehicle that would do faster than 85......
.....downhill.

Retiring my moniker. It's time to ride off into the sunset. It's been a fun ride. Go Cats.

), I hit 115 in my Dodge Coronet. Wouldn't drive like that anymore.

140 in my Porsche 928. On that same trip I made it from Glendive to Lewistown (246 miles) in exactly 2 hours. My fingers were all cramped up once I got there but it was fun!

i have never been much of a speed demon intentionally but when going on road trips i oftne find myself going well over 105 without even knowing it. but i've never set out to see how fast i can go. but this reminds of a time when my dad and i were coming back from whitehall. forget why we were there but that's besides the point. this was during the police strike in that area in the mid 90's. we're cruising pretty good and i ****** you not, all of a sudden two lamborginis go flying past us! i mean flying. i had never seen one in person so i was already shocked but i could not believe how fast they were going.
do you have to know everything to post here? or just think you do?

When I was going to school at MSU i drove a 1979 Camaro Z28, and hit about 125 with that a couple of times. More recently, I had a 2002 Grand Prix GTP with a supercharged V-6 and hit 126 once with it (according to the heads-up display, although the regular speeedometer only went up to 120). I now drive a 2007 Grand Prix GXP with a 303 horsepower V-8, but I guess I just I just don't have the stones that I once had, because I haven't taken it over about 100 (not yet anyway). I used to have a Suzuki 650 motorcyle (4-cylinder), and although the speedometer was pegged at 85, there were a couple of times when once I let off the throttle, it took a long time before the needle moved off the peg. I am not much of a daredevil in most ways, but I absolutely love going fast. There is nothing better than blasting through Wolf Creek Canyon on a warm, sunny, summer day. Although like I said, I have become slightly more cautious as I have gotten older.

140 in an SVO Turbo Mustang between the top of Gore Hill in Great Falls and Ulm.
125 in my '87 Porsche 911 a couple of times. The scary part is, in that car it's effortless to get to that speed and feels very safe. Thank God I didn't have it in my 20's.

120 car (1969), 105 cycle (1970). Not much of that since.
Craziest was 55 on a bicycle down a mountain pass (1976).
