Want an iPhone 4...when?

I watched the blogs from Apples announcement of the iPhone 4 and am so disappinted not to hear Verizon mentioned anywhere. So I dropped an email to ATT wireless develpoment and was told we may not have service here for a while. They purchased the Alltel towers from Verizon in Jan 09 but the FCC has yet to aprove the purchase so ATT has not even begun the long task of changing those towers from CDMA to GSM.

I sure wish Apple would open the iPhone up to other carriers. They are leaving big bucks on the table and loosing ground to Android. I still prefer the hardware of the iPhone and think their interface is much better. Guess I will just keep being patient.

I don't believe there will be AT&T in the entire state for sometime. Even when they convert the Alltell towers, they still will not have towers thru out the state and will have to install new AT&T towers. The Alltel towers that Verizon had to sell to AT&T were only in those locations where the only servers were Verizon and Alltell.

That is the feeling I got from them too. Sounds like Verizon will have to get the iPhone if we want to have it in Montana. Can't hardly blame AT&T when they have network issues in big metropolitan areas they need to invest in fixing. They are doing the right thing for their company in investing in taking care of those areas first.

Or just switch your carrier to At&T and then you can get the iphone. Works just fine in MT.
