That is a good list of games. Though not to impressed with the pick for game of the year..unless the hammer gets pulled out again.
Furman vs. GSU would be a far better game of the year.

Especially when it is going to decide the conference champ for the 4th year in a row in the toughest conference in I-AA. Dont even mention that its one of the longest running rivalries in sports.

They're all good games--if you're not in Bozo or Cheney or Portland...at least you'll get to see yourself on t.v. a couple of times

Cat/Griz was the game of the year last year, I think they need to spread it around a little. Though cat-Griz is definately no less deserving of the game of the year title.

Eastern Kentucky @ Western Kentucky came in first for game of the year with 10.02% of the voting, and the Cat-Griz game came in second with 9.66% of the voting.

Should be game of the year, but not sure I agree that it'll decide the conference champion. Think MSU/EWU might decide that. It is a great rivalry though.

What I meant by that is MSU will most likely need to beat UM in order to win the conference, and if UM wins this year then EWU will most likely be conf champs. Kinda like last year. If the Cats would have won, they wouldnt have been conference champs, but the outcome of that particular game being the final conference game of the season had the conference title riding on it. Cats beat UM, and EWU is champ. UM won, they were champs.

So, basically, the conference title is a race between EWU and MSU, right? The two best teams in the conference by all cat fan predictions I've seen (and to be fair, not a crazy prediction).
Why then would UM/MSU be the game of the year? Aren't the cats the far superior team and the Griz barely worthy of a 3rd spot in the conference title race?
I guess I'm a little confused, will the cat/Griz game be game of the year or not. The question is not regarding the best rivary, it is Game Of The Year. What game with be the best game of the year?

The Game of the Year should be Cat/Griz simply because all sport fans in Montana look forward to the game. Cat/Griz is the best 1-AA rivalry; you can go on e-bay to buy a game tickets! Not a lot of 1-AA games draw that type of demand! I doubt all sports fans in Kentucky really care about the Eastern Kentucky and Western Kentucky game like people in Montana do for the Cat/Griz game.

Oh man. Mr. Quast, I know you played for my college, but...when I look at that list of games and the choices the voters made, I don't see how they passed on GSU-Furman as the game of the year, even though Furman is probably down this year. Not disagreeing completely with your choice, but I thought we'd have a much better game with another conference team this year. And I just can't get over my bias against that location 202 miles to the west of Bozo, so maybe ya'll can pray for me or something and hope I can one day forgive and forget that bunch of...I truly wish we didn't have to even come in contact with most of them.

There were over 47,000 votes cast. Assuming just 47,000 the Eastern Kentucky/Western Kentucky game received 10.02% and Cat/Griz received 9.66% resulting in a difference of 169 votes. I'd say we did pretty good considering that the vast majority of votes came from outside Montana.

Yeah, but how many of those votes are multiple votes by that bunch of--lawyers, environmentalists, etc. from up over the hill?

So, what I'm hearing, except from Cat Grad, who actually seems to get my point, is that the cat/griz game should be game of the year because of all the factors other than the one I consider most important, How Good will the GAME actually be.
CatGrad boldly voice his opinion that "another conference game" might be better, suggesting MSU/EWU. Very possibly right on the money, and possibly not.
All I was trying to get is someone to either say this, or to admit that the cats weren't a clear favorite in the game.
Why then would UM/MSU be the game of the year? Aren't the cats the far superior team and the Griz barely worthy of a 3rd spot in the conference title race?
Why would you think the cat/Griz game was game of the year, and also think the cats had the game in the bag, is all I was trying to get at.

btw. I disagree that Furman may be down. They've got the ingredients in a great QB, good WRs, and a couple stud DBs. Not sure about the rest, but they've got some serious talent coming back.
