2006 1-AA Draftees

Post by catatac » Wed Apr 13, 2005 2:47 pm

Couple talented Bobcats pretty high on this list. I'm betting we'll have a couple more on this list before the season ends in December...! :)

That's a great site. Thanks. Has it been five or six years since Furman had three kids get drafted in the real early rounds?

If Greatwood heals up and has a nice season again this year, he might also be late round draft material as well. Not sure how much playing only 2 years in 1-AA hurts you or not? It shouldn't as long as you produce at that level I would think.

Interesting that Travis is the first QB listed!

I think more eyes then the Bobcat Nation are on Lulay this fall.
Everyone wants to watch the red-headed-Huodini.

That's what I thought. He's very similar to EWU's Meyer IMO, and was ranked substantially above him. I think that's due to the punting thing. I also wonder if they know that when he punts, it's a roll-out style... :?: Either way, nioce to see that he's getting the recognition and respect he deserves!

It also helps that he's a little over 6'3"

Well, I for one can not accept this list at all!!! There are two Bobcats on this list and only one grizzly. And the grizzly barely made the list. That just can't be right that the almighty griz aren't getting any respect, so obviously this list is bogus

Who else would you put on that list for the Griz then? The only one I could maybe see is Lex Hilliard, but he is not a good NFL prospect.

Only if he's standing on a ladder! I went to the football banquet and Travis is no 6'-3" maybe 6'-1". I don't think I'm telling any NFL scouts anything that they don't or won't know if they think about drafting him. He does however "play bigger" than he is. I think it's because he is so strong.

I think Travis is 6'2" or 3". I have stood next to him on multiple occassions and he is easily 6'2"

Well, we could argue over a couple of inches all day, but whatever. Last year's program listed him at 6'2" and the one I got in Great Falls has him at 6'2" again and I read in a scouting report that he's a little over 6'3" and when I compare him to Mohollon on the cover of the program he's MUCH taller than Mohollon and...there, this discussion would fit right in on the eFizz site

If he is over 6-3, then I can see him getting a serious look at draft time

I think Lex may be NFL caliber, but he's only a junior...

If you think Lex is NFL material, check out his #'s from the semi's & championship game last season. It was something like 26 carries for 63 yards; and this was against teams playing the pass because Ochs was on FIRE. Given what Ochs was doing, Hilliard should have EASILY gotten over 100 yards in both games.

Lex has ONE attribute that makes him an above-average IAA running back - power. Average speed, average quickness, and less-than-average moves; not exactly the recipe for an NFL tailback. If you doubt me, watch some game films; his biggest games were simply a result of him overpowering tacklers combined with some very poor tackling by defenders.

Or try this: For my money, I'll still take Yohance Humphrey over Lex; how far did YH get in the NFL? Did he even get a tryout? Last time I heard of YH, he was dodging (or rather NOT dodging) the law in Billings.

I don't know El - maybe you're right. But when Travis was on fire, and he was alot, why didn't we have huge ground gains? I just really like the way Lex runs and think if he progresses at a normal rate, he'll play in the NFL.

I'm sorry, did you not see JD in the EWU game? I'll agree that we didn't have a great ground game last year, but you know what? We AVERAGED more rushing yards per game than did the Griz and the great Lex Hilliard. (At least we were leading them going into the Brawl, I don't remember the final #'s, but they were roughly the same) Also, remember what our O-line looked like at the end of the year...

I predict right now that we will have a stronger & more consistent rushing attack this year than will the Griz, even though everyone seems to agree that Lex is CLEARLY better than JD. I beg to differ...

Thems are bold words my friend.

I still think Mole will lead the league.

Oh no, Justin and whatever back they choose to run in Weber will lead the league. We all know what kind of football McBride believes in and the high school and junior college network McBride has.
