I know there's a track meet friday night. I'm not exactly sure why the women can't play sunday, or why they can't move the track meet to sunday. I don't think it will be that big of deal....this way the mens game isn't in competition with any high school games or hockey games. I think that we will have a packed house.barechestcat wrote:Does anyone have a problem with the men's game being on sunday afternoon? Is there a rational reason for this?

hmm ok now let me try this again...this websight is beginning to look like egriz with the statement that the winner of cat griz or griz cat or whatever you want to call the game this sunday is in the drivers seat. look i will break it down for ya:
PSU: 1/2 game lead over msu as of right now - if the cats loose one game they will win conference
MSU: 1/2 game behind PSU for conference lead. honestly this can mean anything but the cats cant loose one game
UM: 1.5 games behind PSU - same boat as cats cant loose another game - but no realistic chance of hosting conference champoinship.
i know it has been said that PSU hasnt won away from home but they are showing signes that they can win away from home - they beat sac state at their place. let us not forget the drubbings the u and msu took at psu - it will take a lot to reverse that trend because at the least psu is going to beat us at our place.
sorry to have to put it to yall like this but cat/griz means nothing except for state pride....which actually means a lot.
anywho cats by 10 in a booring mistake laden missed shot fest in the mens game
lady griz by 1 in a close game...home game with instate pride on the line the lady cats will be up for this - dont count the kats our of it (kats= my lame attempt at being hip me = computer geek...different topic for a different day)

Um, PSU had a road sweep this past weekend. It's going to come down to the Montana road trip I have a feeling for the conf title and hosting of the BSC tournament.
The BSC is hoping MSU can win it, since MSU is the only school to have ever hosted the tournament with record crowds for every session back in 1988

Uhhhhhh, I don't think so...You must have forgotten the last time MSU hosted. After the loss to the Griz at home they couldn't give tickets away for the remainder of the tourney! For the tourney championship on ESPN, there couldn't have been more than 1500 people in the Brick...CatfaninGA wrote:The BSC is hoping MSU can win it, since MSU is the only school to have ever hosted the tournament with record crowds for every session back in 1988

I think if the Cats defend their home court they are going to win the BSC title. Hopefully MSU/UM/EW can knock off PSU in the coming few weeks.

Yeah, I'm sure the folks out in Portland or Missoula would be out in droves for the title game if their team lost in the semis...Bozgriz wrote:Uhhhhhh, I don't think so...You must have forgotten the last time MSU hosted. You forget though, that many Bozeman and at least one Missoula Bobcat fan bought tourney tickets, so while not every one showed up the tickets were still sold!Bozgriz wrote:Uhhhhhh, I don't think so...You must have forgotten the last time MSU hosted. I was one of the 1500 in 2002. I loved the "Go Eags" one the scoreboard, it made the administration look real professional. Nothing against the Bobcat fans that did watch that game, they were all cheering for the Griz, or at least enjoying a close game, but the officals at Brick Breeden get a big #(&%# You, MSU for that one.
If MSU wins it's 3 remaining home games (regardless of what happens at NAU/Sac), MSU will host. Montana would need to pick up some of that road series, but Montana also controls it's own destiny as far as hosting. So, the Montana schools have home games against PSU, and it is a real possiblity that PSU will get swept for its Montana road trip.

I would think that both MSU and UM have a legitimate shot at hosting with the winner of this weekends game being in the drivers seat (of those two schools). I just have a feeling that Portland State is going to choke down the stretch.

I was talking about the 1988 tournament held in Bozeman not the 2002 event. The 1988 tournament was the best attended BSC Tourney ever. Every session was sold out not just the MSU games. That was the year Chris Childs ended our season with :02 left. They brought in extra seating for the tournament to handle the crowds that year.
Prior to that the tournaemnt was always held in Boise, in the empty pavilion.

Tough weekend in Bozeman
Lady Griz 67, Lady Cats 58 -- Burroughs cant do it alone ... this is pretty much a 1-on-5 game
Grizzlies 70, Cats 60 -- MSU forgets that ball movement yeilds open shots & tall Bobcats get into foul trouble

I would guess that the Collessium (I know that spelling is wrong), would be a more likely venue, but that is based only on my knowledge of Portland facilities. It would be interesting to see if the people of Portland would come out for the tourney, as there are a lot of Montana fans in Oregon, and I would guess there are Montana State fans/alumni as well.
I still think the tourney will be held in Montana, and this game will do a lot to determine where in Montana. It will be a good game, without doubt.
