It's worth remembering from Vigens point of view: There will be an Oregon State quality job opening every single year. And Vigen will be in the discussion for those jobs west of the Mississippi every single year. And the pay will increase every single year.

Theres literally zero downside to Vigen staying in Bozeman to complete the job of winning a natty. He can bail at the end of a middling season like in 2023 and have his pick of landing spots.

Vigen is savvy. Theres no reason for him to go full Choate & end up in a crappy situation.

I agree with everything here except the belief that he could have his pick after a middling season. He will need to keep having good seasons to have that kind of choice (I think he will continue to have good seasons, to be fair.)

As long as we're defining middling as "losing to NDSU by a missed XP in OT in the playoffs" I think he'll be fine.

Eastwood, did not make it. Ball out! Recovered, by Montana State!! The Bobcats hold!!! The Bobcats hold!!!

By ‘middling’ I mean a season like 2023 where the Cats are worthy of a Top 8 seed, but lose by a point to a DSU in a QF game.

Sounds to me like Shepard is in an enviable negotiating position. I think he is enjoying a very happy Thanksgiving.

I sincerely hope Shepard works out great for OSU.
