I think we did a lot to make their defense look better than they really are. A lot of mistakes were made last nightCodyCat wrote: ↑Sun Nov 16, 2025 11:29 amFor those of you who really understand football. Who was the better team; SDSU at Gold Rush or UC Davis last night?
I think the Cats are far better now than they were at Gold Rush. I thought Davis was one of the better teams I’ve seen inside Bobcat Stadium in a long time.

Coming into the game, in conference play, UC Davis was averaging 7 YPP on offense and allowing 5.7 YPP on defense.
Against us, they averaged 5.1 YPP on offense (1.9 YPP less than average) and gave up 7.5 YPP to us (1.8 YPP more than average). I don’t think the score fully shows how much better we were. Despite having 33 less offensive plays, we only had 47 fewer yards.
Their DL was very solid. I think Pinnick is the best QB we’ve played this year, him or Mason, and Plough is the best offensive coach in the conference. Some of their play designs are just beautiful. I think Davis is pretty equal to what UM is overall. There’s not a doubt in my mind we’re the better team, but it’s a hard place to play in. Should be a very good game.

Congratulations on a good win. I think one of the big differences in the game was your defense able to get shoe string tackles against us limiting our positive yards. Against other teams we break those out into the second level.
I have no doubt you guys will handle the Griz. They have been ripe to be beat for several games now. Plus I’m not a Hauck fan. Good luck in the playoffs.

A lot of talk about only dressing 55. In a close game what would be normal # that play. 2 deep on O and D would be 44, then specalists and ST. Doesn't seem like many more would play.

Well considering we saw Dante Moore out the gate you are right. Outside of that he's right up there in ability. Imo is top 3 in the bsc right now. I'm ok agreeing to disagree... that kid is really really good.tetoncat wrote: ↑Sun Nov 16, 2025 11:32 amDidn't say he wasn't a good passer, but definitely not the best the Cats have faced this year.BobcatBuiltTexan wrote: ↑Sun Nov 16, 2025 1:04 amUh your really wrong here. That kid is a great passer, we're just that good. He had good touch, he didn't throw long much but when he did it had good velocity. Our defense makes a lot if really good players not look as good but he liked really good tonight. He's going to be a problem going forward.tetoncat wrote: ↑Sun Nov 16, 2025 12:57 amNot the best passer. His two INTs were not good throws. But he had the most escape abilityBOBCATBORN wrote: ↑Sun Nov 16, 2025 12:54 amI think Pinnick is the best QB we’ve faced all year. Overall the defense did great. Gave up a lot of yards but got turnovers when we needed them and didn’t give up huge plays.

That's a good question, I think they chose to use the te to help with blocking in both passing and run situations due to the quality of the dl. I think they chose secure blocking to ensure a win last night. I took was a bit miffed as to why we didn't use our tes more. I also think ucd made it a point to try to take the te out of the game, I think they under estimated the quality of our wrs outside of taco.
