The interesting thing is how there are kind of two Bobcat teams.

There are the Bobcats who spent considerable time after the game in Missoula engaging with fans in the north end zone, and who got distracted on their way to the prayer circle Saturday in Bozeman.

Then there are the Bobcats who (fortunately) felt the need to say these things:

Vigen:
“Following the game it was apparent that our two teams were interacting more than we needed to. In that moment I wanted to protect Julius Davis in particular. He was in a situation that I didn't feel was great for him and I wanted to get him out of that situation.”

Jones:
“All that extra stuff after the game — that's not how Montana State is. When we win the game, we're going to sing that fight song and then we're going to get to the locker room.”

Let’s hope Vigen and Jones (and Brott) can keep a lid on things.

Funny how both of your groups paraded the trophy around the field before doing their normal activities but you don't mention that.

I respect Juice's fire and passion. He gave everything he has to be on this team. To fight through injuries and adversity, and be willing to stay here when I'm sure he had offers to go elsewhere. I know he loves this team and they love him right back.

I respect Coach Vigen and the concern he has for his players. I truly believe he was looking out for Juice in that moment. Feels like a father/son relationship and he really cares for Julius. You could tell Coach was getting emotional just talking about Julius in the presser today.

That said, if you're not part of that locker room, if you're not on that field bleeding for the rest of those teammates, if you were not on that field in the middle of that interaction, then you have no business providing commentary about it. You don't know what was said - before, during, or after. This team is stronger, maybe even stronger than last year's squad (which I thought would never be possible). They will take care of this internally. Team leaders and coaches will make sure everyone learns from this and move on. Sure, everyone can have an opinion, but this is one of those instances where no one's opinion means jack-squat. All that matters is between Juice and Coach.

How would you like your family grievances and disagreements aired on national media? I'm sure most of us would be embarrassed as hell with some of the stuff that goes on in our lives. Cut the young man and Coach some slack. No one is ever in a position where they can't be human and make a mistake. Life provides us with learning opportunities every single day. This is small potatoes compared to other crap that goes on in programs across the country.

This is the best application of lipstick on the pig that we’ve seen yet.

Lipstick on a pig is literally defined by Bobby coming back to “RTD” after a massive failure at the FBS level, which he left for after leaving a massive wake of legal chaos that left the school in a very tight spot.

Your fanbase’s commentary on an isolated incident that you lack any true understanding of is, well……total bullsh!t.

I can see the where possibly a lot of this chipiness that started pre game and carried over post game .Listen to the post game with Yales coach McGowan towards the end of this post game presser where coach refers to his players studying for finals and going "to a real school".

We’ve been over this a dozen times. He did NOT sat A real school. He said ‘real school with real finals’

Everyone knows that most football players don’t go to “real school”, that they get a different level of treatment.

And one of the best things about Bobcat football is that the staff & culture put a high level of emphasis on academics. Something that isn’t true over the divide or at the vast majority of other schools.

I don’t know why BN is so sensitive about this, but we should stop playing the victim card.

That’s what I heard but idk for sure…heard it was someone who was at Wisconsin when Davis was…who knows what was being said amongst the players but it did seem friendly both Davis and Long friendly tapped the Yale player’s helmet and then the Yale guy behind him said something to Davis and you can read Davis lips saying “you good to him?” And at that moment Vigen grabs and pulls Davis and the Yale player gives a thumbs up to Davis…there was probably a little overreaction by both Vigen and Davis obviously Davis was a pretty extreme but I’m sure things are fine in the locker room (hopefully it’s not a distraction) and Davis and the team will be focused and up for Friday night.

It wasn't about him and the buddy from Wisconsin. It was about him and #7 on defense for Yale, and the Yale coach's refusal to get that particular player out of the fray. That dude was a chatty Kathy and a cheap shot artist the whole game and was busy stirring crap in the handshake line. Vigen didn't have the context of the buddy from Wisconsin, he could see the situation devolving. He protected his player. Full stop.
