And if he’s seeking an agent, after deleting the “announcement soon” post, maybe he’s taking the correct route and not chasing an offer that may not materialize. Or maybe Vigen advised him to get professional help as part of the open line of communication.cat_stache_fever wrote: ↑Sat Dec 27, 2025 7:02 pmIt it possible that none of us really know for sure what his tweet means? Or just maybe he’s f’ing with all of us and getting a good laugh out of it.
But the only real thing I have to contribute is to please be careful disparaging a player still on the team (not directed at you, Stashe). Nobody knows behind the scenes in his life.

I think it is a big deal. We had a TE last year that went to Arkansas that dropped several passes in the chipper that might’ve made a huge difference. That fella didn’t drop that many passes all year. Had a foot out the door before he got off the plane in Texas in my opinion.

So glad we have a number of Sports Psychologists here, especially because we are the only team that seems to go through this every year.

Someone needs to start a Bobcat Portal thread so we can keep track of everyone leaving. I just don’t want to be the guy that brings the bad luck.

So are we ignoring the fact that Illinois State also has players who know they're going to enter the transfer portal after the game? Some will handle it better than others but this is going to be part of every FCS Title game moving forward, for both teams involved.kwcat wrote: ↑Sun Dec 28, 2025 7:22 amIt is a huge deal.94VegasCat wrote: ↑Sun Dec 28, 2025 1:45 amI think it is a big deal. In Colter and Brooks recap, Colter mentioned interviewing Adam Jones during fall camp, and Adam talking about the locker room drama that existed last year at the Natty. I don't remember that interview, but evidently Adam indicated the team knew who was leaving, coaches and players alike, and it affected their focus and ability to play. If it's only Williams, that sucks that he's not able to keep his mouth shut until Jan 6th, but oh well. If there are many more, which likely there are some, hopefully the experience last year will help the leaders on the team keep everyone focused on the task ahead. As I said earlier, winning a natty will only help the stock of those looking to transfer, so that should be their ultimate goal.

It does affect both teams. But I thought we were talking about Montana State. I was talking about the Championship game in general and that I don't feel like players such as Carson Williams planning (apparently) to enter the portal after the game will play a major role in the outcome. I'll shut up now and let the worriers have their say.kwcat wrote: ↑Sun Dec 28, 2025 11:20 amIt does affect both teams. But I thought we were talking about Montana State. If he leaves for a bag, good for him! Having players come in and transfer to a higher level for a lot of money makes us very attractive for young recruits. If a couple of players announcing their intentions before the game negatively affects the team, then maybe our culture isn’t what we think it is.

Yes, you’d think that if they could weather Vigen interviews with other teams, they could handle that.Clinton T wrote: ↑Sun Dec 28, 2025 11:49 amIf he leaves for a bag, good for him! Hopefully as a result of Vigen warning him he was prepared to announce to the team that there's an open seat on the plane to Nashville. That would be a good precedent to set. Whether you are leaving or not, keep quiet about it. If you are so self centered that you can't help yourself from broadcasting your plans publicly you'll find yourself off the team.
Eastwood, did not make it. Ball out! Recovered, by Montana State!! The Bobcats hold!!! The Bobcats hold!!!

I agree, and the secondary... still kinda pisses me off. Knowing what we now know, some of those secondary players were already gone, and did not play that great. I'm not saying they didn't try, or had mailed it in, but let's just say that was not the best performance of the season out of our secondary.94VegasCat wrote: ↑Sun Dec 28, 2025 1:45 amI think it is a big deal. I think most players would be even more focused but that could be a bad thing too. I wouldn’t want anyone to think that I had a foot out the door and would prepare even more to avoid having anyone thinking I was checked out mentally.catatac wrote: ↑Sun Dec 28, 2025 3:14 pmI agree, and the secondary... still kinda pisses me off. Simeon Woodard got toasted all night and it was his last game. Some revisionist history going on here with the "performance" of that game. How about a conversation about the coaches then while we're at it. Oline kind of played bad (Marcus Wehr had one of his worst games of his career), the defense called a play that literally allowed a 70 yard run untouched up the middle, and our offense was a no-show for the first 20 minutes. Should Walker, Johnson, and Daly be held accountable? Also Rohan Jones also caught a huge two point conversion.catatac wrote: ↑Sun Dec 28, 2025 3:14 pmI agree, and the secondary... still kinda pisses me off. Just saying fellas, everyone played damn hard that game. We lost because we didn't make enough plays and Tommy didn't pull the ball enough on zone reads. It is what it is. The players will play very hard to win our next championship in a week.
