Hey everybody, we landed on the moon!
Ah Yat having a dad who was a road winner in a very tight game in Bozeman is the only reason for the reference. Don’t be so crabby. LOL.
I was talking about the comment saying Ah Yat has played in a raucous environment ten times... because ya, it's exactly the same when it's your home crowd.
That’s like saying Cats played in a much more hostile environment against Oregon than in Missoula. Completely ignoring the fact that it was hostile for about 3 minutes before they boat raced us and in Missoula it’s hostile from the time the bus pulls in until the final whistle.

Guess I need to see a decibel reader from when KAY is running his offense on his home field.

This game needs to hurry up cause we’ve flat out entered a different universe these last couple days.

I wasn’t sure where to post this, but definitely an interesting QB perspective.

Hey now, he did have to study the tablet on the sidelines when it was loud.
I know this comment is sarcastic, but it honestly is a part of why I don’t think he’ll struggle or melt down.

Going into Cat/gris this year, the reason why there were so many questions on how Lamson would handle it was because he was brand new to it, had never experienced it in either place. And he obviously excelled in it regardless.

Now with Ah Yat, he may have been on the sidelines, but he was in the stadium, getting a dose of the game day experience last year in Bozeman. And this will now be his 3rd game being involved in. So while it’s clearly a different beast being the guy out there that 20k people are aiming their screams at, I’m not expecting a deer in the headlights, “holy sh*t”, reaction from him when he goes out there.

He’s at least somewhat prepared for how loud it’ll be. It’s not a completely new thing that he has no idea what he’s walking in to, like Lamson was a few weeks ago.

I still hope the crowd is as loud as it’s ever been and we cause a few false starts and general sloppiness. I’m just not expecting the gris or Ah Yat to melt down in it either. But I would love to be wrong…

False starts are just part of it. Overall atmosphere sometimes makes players too amped up or try to do to much causing errors, drops, etc.

So, do we go press-man and send a blitz on 3rd down to make him uncomfortable? I know that is risky if the pressure doesn't get there fast enough, but I don't think we did that at all during 1.0... that led to AhYat throwing short underneath routes on 3rd down to convert relatively easily on our soft zone CBs playing 10 yards off the line. I feel like playing press to disrupt the rhythm of the quick throws, combined with the pressure of 5-6 rushers, and the hostile noise of Bobcat Stadium, it might lead to some big change of momentum sacks/INTs/fumbles.

Ah Yat has definitely never been away at a place like Bobcat Stadium, nor has he ever played in such a high stakes game(neither has Wortham or half of their team of transfer starters)... I do think he is on pace to be the Griz best QB of the last 10-15 years. But I'd be surprised if we don't see some growing pains in this game for him
This is my though process as well. It seems the conventional wisdom is to sit in cover 2 and make the griz earn every yard. Hoping they will make a mistake. But this IMHO is not the best strategy to play at home. The chances that their skill players make something out of nothing are just as high as them making mistakes as the cats sit in soft zone. The bobcat secondary players are good tacklers and capable of playing man. I say play press man predominantly and let them try to execute under pressure instead of waiting for a mistake. Let the guys fly around and play loose.
Ah Yat also has a bad knee right now and is NOT looking to run in any formidable way. That was a big part of their success in 1.0 as he picked up several first downs with his legs and scored a brilliant touchdown on the ground. Sit in that shelf and make them earn every f***ing yard.
I want us to bring pressure on the QB, but I want twists into the center gaps so that Ah Yat won’t even think about trying to run straight ahead. With the brace his best running angles will be forward and his worst will be laterally. Get him moving sideways… guard the middle and we can create problems for him!

On the first 3rd and long I would love to see a max blitz, send the house. If Ah Yat reads it and gets it out quick and it costs us, so be it, but getting an early hit on him and rattle him a bit would be fantastic.

With a brace on his knee, is it left or right? Which direction should he be forced to run? The brace should inhibit certain movements?

A thought came to me, it's KAY really hurt? Would Bobby have him wear a brace on purpose for show? I know, that's a huge reach and highly unlikely, but if Bobby thinks he's playing chess? We already know he game planned for Troy a few years ago and Choate kept that under wraps until game day, checkmate! Gameday thoughts I guess lol

He can try that card all he wants but they’re acting like the DB being injured was a bigger loss than Ah Yat’s health and SDSU were in worse shape and USD lost their RB when they were finally generating some momentum in that game, so the fact they have their starters all playing there’s no excuses today.

Yup. Fife is starting today. Robbie is starting at safety.
