I think if you show up a quarter late, it’s fair in my opinion that everyone doesn’t immediately play musical chairs to accommodate you. You clearly don’t care about the game.![]()
I've seen some wild takes on this board but this was amazing. Literally had me laughing out loud!![]()
Honestly it’s wild to be this needs explaining. But I can assure you if I get to my seats an HOUR after kickoff and someone is in then, they’ll be leaving right then. You’re completely dreaming if I’ll just wait and let them have them until their convenience because they determined I wasn’t there when I should have been.
Completely bizarre take. Luckily I’ve never had to deal with this as I assume your view is shared by nearly no one with even a little sense. lol.

Wild stuff! Didn’t think I’d get called out on that take! Suddenly I’m a mitten clapper and need to be told about the “energy” of this game. Like I haven’t been to almost every cat/griz home and away for 30 years. Lol.wbtfg wrote: ↑Wed Dec 17, 2025 9:48 pmPreach!!ilovethecats wrote: ↑Wed Dec 17, 2025 8:48 pmBecause they’re not your seats. All good. I’ll be standing in front of my seat all game long like I do every game. Griz are in for something pretty special.

Ilovethecats, you sound like someone who knows the rules and wants them firmly enforced every second, so I'm hoping you can tell us all what the rules are and how you'd enforce them in the following scenario that can occur in the stadium.ilovethecats wrote: ↑Wed Dec 17, 2025 8:48 pmBecause they’re not your seats. Fan 1 is sitting in his seat1 or standing immediately in front of it.
Fan 2 arrives and in order to get to his seat must cross past Fan 1.
A. Does Fan 2 have the right to cross past fan 1 the SECOND Fan 2 arrives?
B. Does fan 1 have a property right this SECOND, the next SECOND, and every SECOND to say "this is my property and you shall not pass"?
C. Is there some possible way that Fan 1 and Fan 2 can work together to figure out an appropriate time and way that Fan 2 can cross past Fan 1 that balances and minimizes any harm to either Fan so that no-one's rights are truly violated?
If your answer is C. here is an extra credit Question. Might there be something found in answer C. that can also be used to amicably handle the scenario you wrote about above?
(Hint: work together to figure out an appropriate time and way...) (Hint hint: See definition of amicably)
If however, your answer was A. or B. we can say with nearly 100% accuracy that you are a direct descendent of the character Javret (sometimes spelled Javar) from Les Misaralbes, and the name on your birth certificate is Francis.

I think a better analogy is, let’s say you, your wife and kids go for a weeklong vacation and you come home and find someone squatting in your house. When you tell them to get the F out, they respond by saying they just started a new season of the Gilmore Girls and it’s Rude of you to interrupt them.Joe Bobcat wrote: ↑Thu Dec 18, 2025 2:32 amIlovethecats, you sound like someone who knows the rules and wants them firmly enforced every second, so I'm hoping you can tell us all what the rules are and how you'd enforce them in the following scenario that can occur in the stadium.ilovethecats wrote: ↑Wed Dec 17, 2025 8:48 pmBecause they’re not your seats. In our area, if seats are empty a few minutes after kickoff, we spread out, if some one shows up we move back to gather. We all know the regulars around us, even if we don't know their names. If a student or SRO are sitting somewhere a regular is we talk to them and let them know there may be someone that will make them move. It they don't show up they can stay.
It really doesn't seem to be that big of a problem to me. Crowd them in and get loud.

That's why I wish we could rent a seat that was bolted on. At least then you knew your spot.RKMCMT wrote: ↑Wed Dec 17, 2025 5:57 pmThe reality is people slide around quite a bit because they naturally fill in space vs sit packed firmly against each other in tiny spots because of the number stuck below them.
I remember someone coming in late at a game last year and being quite obnoxious about people 'stealing' her seats when in reality it was just the whole row of people naturally spreading into open area, which happens whenever there is any opening.
While it's fair to expect people to eventually sort it out when you arrive later on, it's unfair to naturally blame the people that likely just kind of got group-pushed into your open seats.

Yep...nothing wrong with that. I just take exception to the idea that if someone shows up late, they "clearly don't care about the game" and they shouldn't inconvenience the person who is squatting in their seat. That's a bridge too far.cats2506 wrote: ↑Thu Dec 18, 2025 9:41 amIn our area, if seats are empty a few minutes after kickoff, we spread out, if some one shows up we move back to gather. Re: When Bobcat Fans stuff the bleachers without tickets
Kinda surprising this discussion jumped the rails as far as it did.
The entire solution to any of this is respect.
- If you’re late to your seat, try to time your arrival during a timeout, or some break in the action. Kind of a universal courtesy for any public event. I’ve done this. It’s easy. It also helps everyone else around you not involved in the seat swap.
- If someone is in your seat, be polite, give them a chance to make it right.
- If you’re in someone’s seat and they show up, then move.
This whole discussion just boils down to all parties doing the right thing. If someone chooses otherwise, that’s when there’s issues. Deal with it without making it into a bigger deal than it needs to be.

The right thing is to just not sit in an area that you don't have tickets for in the first place. Especially this week when everyone is fully aware there won't be any empty seats to claim as your owntdub wrote: ↑Thu Dec 18, 2025 10:35 amKinda surprising this discussion jumped the rails as far as it did.

Exactly. I don't care if you want to sit by your friends or if you only got SRO. What's wild is you couldn't have a more bassackwards opinion if you tried. If I buy the seat, I own the rights to it for the duration of the game. You don't get to make a claim on it, or decide when is an appropriate time for me to come back to it. It's beyond delusional to think it's reasonable for people to just wait on the stairs for you to decide when it's a good time for you to move.GoodTimesAllTheTime wrote: ↑Wed Dec 17, 2025 5:18 pmWhat makes it wild? Not disagreeing. But reality is different than idealism. Idealistically everyone follows the rules to the letter of the law and everyone is happy. But reality is that’s not gonna happen. I just offered an opinion that there’s ways to address it without there “being a problem” or making the problem worse.RUACAT wrote: ↑Thu Dec 18, 2025 11:11 amThe right thing is to just not sit in an area that you don't have tickets for in the first place. No denying it can be an issue, but it can be addressed in a civil way to not escalate. We’re all Bobcats, it’s the holidays, just treat people good and good things happen.
Just don’t understand why this is even being argued here and there such a hostile tone around here. This is a week to celebrate something truly special and unique.
