They are saying this vindicates Pfulgran and O'day. Those are the posters that most of us are referring to. It is not a majority of posters, but sometimes fans as a group are lumped together and seen in the light of their worst fans. Is it fair? No, but it happens.
I have seen enough comments to turn my stomach regarding this whole matter. Two young peoples lives and the lives of their families will never be the same. Hopefully all involved will be able to begin a healing process and will move forward and have good lives.
Something else is at play here. There have been a few odd ducks calling for the accuser's name to be made public for a long time now on eGriz, newspaper comments, Twitter, Facebook, etc. But something happened yesterday that has made a few people "f-uvking ashamed" and "f-cking disgusted". Those are strong words used to illustrate strong emotions. I'm getting the sense that some Bobcat fans were hoping for something yesterday they could poke a Griz Fran's eye with. They didn't get it and are upset about that.
No, dude, you're missing the freakin' point. In
any rape case,
anywhere, regarding
anyone, my utmost concern goes toward the person who was potentially raped - because if they really were raped, they are going to through an unimaginable amount of trauma regarding the incident.
So, when I see or hear about
anyone that has attempted to slander, verbally abuse, or in any way threaten the potential victim, I do indeed find myself completely "f***ing ashamed" and "f***ing disgusted" that I have to even imagine such pathetic scum walk the earth, and that I must call them human beings. I don't give a f*** if it's a UM grad, MSU grad, Montanan, American, Canadian, whatever - I lose all respect for someone when they decide to cross that line of humanity.
That is what has been "f***ing disgusting" about this trial. And my disgust goes toward any
human being that engaged in that behavior - the fact that the few who were doing it in this case were Griz fans is irrelevant. You could replace this situation with any fanbase and you'd get the same "odd ducks" you spoke of.
