Re: Gold Rush shirts
Nice! I am missing only two more. Looks like I have all of those except the bottom left! That means that is either 2008 or our inaugural gold rush shirt in 2006. Either way, nice find!

Re: Gold Rush shirts
The lower left is the 2008 Gold Rush shirt as seen in a photo from what is now known as X. Dated August 2008. It incorrectly states 2008 was the first Gold Rush game. You can see shirts from the 2007 game in the crowd.

There is some text under the logo. My guess is ‘THE GOLD RUSH GAME’ ?

Re: Gold Rush shirts
Thank you everyone for all the help! I believe there was a design error on the 2016 shirt. It WAS the tenth anniversary of Gold Rush, but they put the dates as 2006-2016 on the shirt. Ten years takes us back to 2007, which is the correct start of the tradition. With that being said, here is every Gold Rush shirt we have ever had, in order!

Really shows off how much of an upgrade the new cat head logo was over the old oneADOKmt wrote: ↑Wed Jan 21, 2026 10:38 pmThank you everyone for all the help! Re: Gold Rush shirts
Great work ADOKmt ! The 2006 date is attributed to about 3,000 shirts printed for students in resident halls in 2006 for a game before the Gold Rush term was even coined in 2007 with accompanying tee shirts. The attached excerpt from an article discusses how it all evolved. I suspect the highlighted shirts in these photos from a 2008 game are some of those original 3,000 shirts printed in 2006.

Great eye. I was a freshman in 2006. Wasn't at MSU until the following year though. I guarantee some of my buddies received those though. Can't imagine any of them were responsible enough to keep them until todayRICO CAT wrote: ↑Wed Jan 21, 2026 11:26 pmGreat work ADOKmt ! This guy still goes to the games and still paints his face much the same way, every game, always with a bandana.

Is he a BN poster? I feel like @CelticCat or @longhorn_22 do you know? I know we were contemporaries at MSU (Spring 2007 grad here).

Re: Gold Rush shirts
Oh, and what a fantastic trip down memory lane @ADOKmt! I missed the inaugural Gold Rush game in 2007 (working out of state at the time), but have been at every one since. Personally, one of my favorite shirt designs is the 2014 Blue and Gold State of Mind version. That said, the one you mocked up for 2026 is really good!

Man I'd have to go back and look at some stuff. I feel like I recognize him but I can't place a name.
Don't let this distract you from the fact that the griz blew a 22-0 lead.

Re: Gold Rush shirts
Oh I'm an infrequent poster. I still wear the face paint and even wore it down in Nashville too. I still have that Gold Rush t-shirt too. It has Langford Hall on the back of the shirt (I was an RA there at the time) The oversized foam claws are lost to history, but I still have the blue bedsheet "cape" somewhere in the dark recesses of my closet. I'm probably too old for the cape at this point, but people come to expect the face paint. It's part of my gameday traditions at this point.

Re: Gold Rush shirts
Any chance you can DM or post here a pic of that shirt laying on a bed or a table? Would love to get it mocked up so we officially have every gold rush and gold rush precursor shirt documented!Gorak wrote: ↑Sat Jan 24, 2026 10:32 amOh I'm an infrequent poster. Keep up the face paint thing, it's a great tradition!

Any chance of buying a pic/poster, say 12" x 18"? Would make a great framed Bobcat cave wall hanger.damnyoutuesday wrote: ↑Wed Jan 21, 2026 11:13 pmReally shows off how much of an upgrade the new cat head logo was over the old oneADOKmt wrote: ↑Wed Jan 21, 2026 10:38 pmThank you everyone for all the help!
