Bobcat Football Mount Rushmore(s)
Been thinking about this in light of such a monumental season and where that puts players in terms of overall legacy. You have to narrow it down to 4, that's the point of the exercise. But that doesn't mean you can't make multiple lists so here are mine. Granted I didn't watch some of the names on this list but I'm a history buff and just because I personally didn't watch them doesn't mean they weren't all time greats.
Running Backs:
Don Hass - I mean if your nickname is the iron tumbleweed you have to be on this list
Cody Kirk
Ryan Johnson - one the key players in breaking the streak
Isaiah Ifanse - what could have been. sigh.
Pass Catchers:
Tanner Bleskin - Most yards total
Joe Bignell - not going to do a TE list but probably could
Lance McCutcheon - Most yards on a VERY run first team
Taco Dowler - Yup, already belongs and has 2 of the biggest plays in Bobcat history
QBs:
Kelly Bradley
DeNarius McGhee
Tommy Mellott
Justin Lamson - sorry redheaded houdini. you got bumped.
Defensive players:
Bill Kollar
Kane Ioane
Alex Singleton
Troy Andersen
AND DRUMROLL
The Mount Rushmore of Bobcats:
Bill Kollar
DeNarius McGhee
Troy Andersen
Tommy Mellott
There are several players currently playing that could make this list if next year plays out like we would all want it to go. What's your list?

Without putting a ton of thought into it, my Bobcat Football Mount Rushmore would be:
Sonny Holland
Bill Kollar
Troy Andersen
Brent Vigen

Have no problem dying on this hill. Isaiah Ifanse is the current all-time leading rusher in MSU history AND played here for five years and got his degree. Took a Cal opportunity to help out his family. Regardless of what Isaiah thinks of his decision, he still should be revered as one of the greatest if not the greatest RB in Bobcat history.Prodigal Cat wrote: ↑Wed Jan 21, 2026 3:36 pmBeen thinking about this in light of such a monumental season and where that puts players in terms of overall legacy. Re: Bobcat Football Mount Rushmore(s)
Considering that the greatest QB, RB and WR in school history may be active players it's hard to create a list right now unless you just don't count active players for Bobcat Rushmore circa January 2026.
Showing pressure on fourth down in overtime. They bring pressure. Lamson throws...Endzone! Caught! TOUCHDOWN!!! Taco Dowler!
And a kick away from a championship.
Here we go. Miles Sansted. Snap, hold, kick, Up, GOOOOD!! FOR A NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP!!!

They should create a statue outside the BAC that is Lamson throwing the ball while getting rushed/hit and 25 yards away (or whatever it was) Taco catching the ball.luckyirishguy25 wrote: ↑Wed Jan 21, 2026 3:50 pmAll I'm going to say is Taco Dowler deserves a statue.

Im not sure who comes off your list but I feel like Lulay, Fellows and Brad Daly need a spot.
For us being known for OL for the last 15 years its hard not to include a Flynn, Wehr, Weidenaar or Hanson in there with Holland.

Re: Bobcat Football Mount Rushmore(s)
Yeah, how can you not have the all-time leading sack leader and tackles for loss leader, Mark Fellows? That guy was the best defensive player I've ever seen at MSU. That's not to slight Troy or Kollar though.

Re: Bobcat Football Mount Rushmore(s)
To not have Lulay on there is mind blowing. Swap the three post Lulay players and put them on the teams Lulay was on and ask yourself if they would have had the ability to turn the ship around. Lulay played with a bunch of fuggin misfits at the wr position. I would love to see how DM, TM and JL played on a real grass field like he did, too. Come late October and November every single year that field turned to an absolute disaster. The turf being installed in 2008 was a game changer for late season games and Bobcat football as a whole. To have Lamson in with three 3+ year starters because the team won the championship is ridiculous. Lamson has his name etched in history with the team but he's got a long way to go to be even close to as many places as Lulay's is in the Montana State record books.Prodigal Cat wrote: ↑Wed Jan 21, 2026 3:36 pmQBs:

I’d have to strongly disagree with that.Team10 wrote: ↑Wed Jan 21, 2026 5:34 pmTo not have Lulay on there is mind blowing. Mark Fellows would replace Alex Singleton on the defensive players and DM on the Mount Rushmore.

I agree 100% and its why I have him on the list. My Sigh is I wish somehow we had the NIL in place to keep him here for the duration of his career and kept him to see what he could have done his last year. He is one the best to put on the Blue and Gold and him taking a shot at the next level was deserved.VimSince03 wrote: ↑Wed Jan 21, 2026 3:46 pmHave no problem dying on this hill. Re: Bobcat Football Mount Rushmore(s)
Thats why its my list. Honestly it's hard and you want to include more but that's what a Mt Rushmore is and in the end Bobcats have a Natty because of the way Lamson played in multiple games. That's why he jumps players with multiple years starting.Team10 wrote: ↑Wed Jan 21, 2026 5:34 pmTo not have Lulay on there is mind blowing. DMcG has more yards and TD passes in his career than Lulay. DeNarius also has 3 of the top 6 seasons in completion % all time.

Gotta have Person in the mix for OL. Maybe the best pro career outside of Singleton in the past 20 years or so.
