Re: Cat Chat this week
Which game are you interested in?
And to answer your question, there are not post game pressers during basketball other than during the rivalry or the Big Sky Tournament or the NCAA Tournament. All other interviews are either conducted one on one or for post game, just on the court. Most of the time, TV stations have already left because of deadline and the 9 and 10 o'clock news. So the only post game press conference I've been at this year is in Bozeman this last Saturday...

Re: Cat Chat this week
Colter is correct. After the game, radio (becasue they can go longer) has an interview with Head Coach. Parker Cotton requests the players he would like to talk to, and they talk to him, but there is no official "presser" after games (other than Cat/griz). I know ESPN+ is working on interviews, but radio gets 1st dibs, and ESPN+ broadcast doesn't go long enough to do both. Many people have commented "how come the (insert school name ) ESPN+ broadcast shows a coach interview after the game... Answer is, they use the radio feed for the broadcast, not a separate person like MSU does (good for me).Colter_Nuanez wrote: ↑Thu Jan 22, 2026 10:15 amWhich game are you interested in?

This answers my question. Any of the women's games. But makes sense if its only rivalry.Colter_Nuanez wrote: ↑Thu Jan 22, 2026 10:15 amWhich game are you interested in?

The youtube behind the mic page usually includes the coaches interview right at the end:SACCAT wrote: ↑Thu Jan 22, 2026 11:20 amColter is correct. Do they not do a Monday presser like Vigen does for football. Probably hard early season due to travel bit once conference starts seems like another good way to get eyes and ears on the program.SACCAT wrote: ↑Thu Jan 22, 2026 11:20 amColter is correct. They don't anymore. Guessing there just isn't the demand for it from the media outlets like there is for football. I think we still get a decent amount of content from the coaches each week with Cat Chat every Tuesday night and the weekly Bobcat Insider show that MTN Sports puts out on Wednesdays.tetoncat wrote: ↑Thu Jan 22, 2026 1:41 pmDo they not do a Monday presser like Vigen does for football. Re: Cat Chat this week
Pressers would be great. Also, the basketball coaches are all so accommodating and so great. So most of us are fine with not having pressers when we can get long one on ones whenever we want. I would totally tune into, participate in and post weekly pressers for the Cats like we used to do in Bozeman at Bridger Brewing (they used to do Cat Chat at lunch on Tuesdays haha). But it's more like weekly press availability, whoever you want if you're in person and if you're me or other statewide outlets, you just get one on ones when you need.MSU01 wrote: ↑Thu Jan 22, 2026 1:45 pmThey don't anymore. Re: Cat Chat this week
If there is demand here for weekly interviews with each of the head hoops coaches at MSU, give me your vote and I'll pitch it, should be able to do at least most weeks.Colter_Nuanez wrote: ↑Fri Jan 23, 2026 1:07 amPressers would be great. Re: Cat Chat this week
Its easy to say yes, absolutely, when the women's tem is dominating like they are. I'm interested but I get too, that Cat Chat is already available. If you did it, I would listen to the podcast on the Big Sky Breakdown. But you see your analytics for plays and downloads so have an idea of what works and what doesnt. But maybe a weekly big sky breakdown basketball coaches where you do like 10 minutes with each coach for a 40 minute show? Honestly, maybe interesting to have a short interview with one coach from around the league each week.Colter_Nuanez wrote: ↑Fri Jan 23, 2026 1:08 amIf there is demand here for weekly interviews with each of the head hoops coaches at MSU, give me your vote and I'll pitch it, should be able to do at least most weeks.Colter_Nuanez wrote: ↑Fri Jan 23, 2026 1:07 amPressers would be great.
