Announcers pointed out that at one point in the second half he had two touches, and were wondering why they weren’t using him more. Thst’s a valid question but I suspect our secondary had something to say about that. Wortham is really good, don't get me wrong. But hes not even close to the best receiver in the conference. (He might not be the best receiver in the state). If hes not the best receiver in the conference (I think it's Gbutu or Shulikov) he certainly isn't OPOY.
Hes arguably the best return man in the conference. But hes barely Top 10 for OPOY IMO.
Wortham is working with a really good QB (I'd say all conference HM) and a great RB (1st team). He should be doing a whole lot more.

Griz nation a month ago thought they had 3 Payton winners. Now none will win the the conference OPY. Life comes at you fast.

Good big sky breakdown by tootell on this tonight. He had one....ONE catch for 3 yards. He had some runs but one catch.Bobcat4Ever wrote: ↑Sat Nov 22, 2025 9:10 pmAnnouncers pointed out that at one point in the second half he had two touches, and were wondering why they weren’t using him more. Also, after he tipped the ball to Caden Dowler, he sat on the turf whining with his hands up to the ref instead of trying to make up for the INT he just caused.lutecat wrote: ↑Sat Nov 22, 2025 10:44 pmGood big sky breakdown by tootell on this tonight. I haven't watched enough ball to know if thats typical...but its a sign of a REALLY bad teammate.

Gillman will win conference OPY, he dominated the cats and every other team he has played. He is the best back in the big Sky by a wide margin. Davis is second followed by an even bigger gapProdigal Cat wrote: ↑Sat Nov 22, 2025 9:40 pmGriz nation a month ago thought they had 3 Payton winners. Now none will win the the conference OPY. It does doesn’t it? I’m thinking they were a little high on themselves after their undefeated record ignoring the fact they played absolutely no one and had a million games in the friendly confines of wash griz. Then they play an actual good team; who I don’t think played especially good, and lose. LolProdigal Cat wrote: ↑Sat Nov 22, 2025 9:40 pmGriz nation a month ago thought they had 3 Payton winners. Yep, dominated so much you lost. Lol. Gillman is good, he’s going to be first team all conference RB but I think Lamson probably sealed it up today for OPOY.1890Griz wrote: ↑Sun Nov 23, 2025 3:34 amGillman will win conference OPY, he dominated the cats and every other team he has played. Dominated? He had one run that doubled his yards. He was good. As advertised. But I disagree he dominated...1890Griz wrote: ↑Sun Nov 23, 2025 3:34 amGillman will win conference OPY, he dominated the cats and every other team he has played. I would not argue with Gilman getting the award. He runs behind a mediocre OL and still produces at a high level. Threat in the passing game. Stellar player.

Wortham will probably get Newcomer of the Year and Lamson OPOY. I know it doesn’t make sense, but that’s my guess.
Seattle to Billings to Missoula to Bozeman to Portland to Billings

Can Wortham get that? Is it Newcomer to a team or to the Big Sky Conference?PapaG wrote: ↑Sun Nov 23, 2025 9:13 amWortham will probably get Newcomer of the Year and Lamson OPOY. I know it doesn’t make sense, but that’s my guess.

Huh, hadn’t considered it. Since it’s a conference award, he can’t be eligible I suppose.SparkCat wrote: ↑Sun Nov 23, 2025 9:17 amCan Wortham get that? Wortham is a formidable weapon and hurt us initially. But he wasn’t a factor in 2nd half, except for the pass Dowler caught. And he’s definitely not a newcomer.

Re: OPY, DPY, NOY
You don't get OPOY if you are held to one reception for 3 yards when you play a real defense. Sure he scored a TD running the ball but he was shut down at his natural position.

He consistently had 10 yard runs and that run still happened. You have to factor in all of his rushes, good players produce in big moments and Gillman did just that. 8+ YPC and had a nasty pancake block early in the gamelutecat wrote: ↑Sun Nov 23, 2025 9:07 amDominated? Re: OPY, DPY, NOY
I know the gris are losing lots of seniors. Does Wortham have one more season? Would be a hoot if he got an NIL offer he couldn’t resist, although he didn’t have a great year overall, but a good year, IMHO…
