Ahh, reporters. This sounds fantastic until you realize it isn't completely true. Montana State had three 1,000 yard rushers (Mellott, Humphrey, Jones) last season, so Nevada isn't the only school to accomplish the feat. Granted, MSU yardage includes playoff games, but that doesn't matter, it's still in one season.

I read an article from Bro Bible yesterday talking about states with no FBS schools. It credited MSU with no FCS titles and one title game appearance, which came last year. Facts don't matter in sports reporting these days.

They are watering down the conference but at least we're getting some cash out of the deal and not cutting into our piece of the pie until 2030.

I don't see either university as watering down the conference. SUU is a proven commodity in multiple sports from their previous stint in the BSC, and it just feels like UTU will bring more to the table than either UNCU or PSU. They are also a very good geographical fit. You could very well call the BSC " The I-15 Conference" given that the majority of institutions are in close poximity to that intermountain west travel corridor. They both currently have higher enrollments than "the flagship" over the high in MSO, for whatever that's worth...

Say what you will about "academic fit" or "peer institutions", but I feel like in all other aspects, they are a net upgrade. Especially if (nay, more likely when) PSU finally pulls the plug on their football program.
