This is fascinating for the Cats IMO. I don't think it's see a world where Lehigh is seeded higher than us, even were we to lose the cat griz game. There's an argument to be made that as long as the Cats win their next 2 they aren't dropping below the #3 seed. I still wouldn't want to have the same number of FCS losses as SDSU, so if we're wanting more comfortability I think we need to see them lose one more.
Just need to win out. That simplifies all of it.GoldstoneCat wrote: ↑Wed Nov 05, 2025 1:33 pmThis is fascinating for the Cats IMO. From what I hear they are still pretty banged up and have @USD, Illinois St, and @UND left on the schedule.GoldstoneCat wrote: ↑Wed Nov 05, 2025 1:33 pmThis is fascinating for the Cats IMO. Conversely, if they win all three convincingly, then they might jump MSU if the Bobcats struggle. Those are three solid teams, especially Ill. State and UND.cats2506 wrote: ↑Wed Nov 05, 2025 2:01 pmFrom what I hear they are still pretty banged up and have @USD, Illinois St, and @UND left on the schedule.GoldstoneCat wrote: ↑Wed Nov 05, 2025 1:33 pmThis is fascinating for the Cats IMO. If they don't get healthy soon SDSU may be in trouble.
Could be. However, I think IF the gris lose the Brawl they will not be 3, they'll be 4 or 5. IF we lose the Brawl I also think we'll be 4 or 5. Depends on how the rest of the field finish off their last 3 games. GO CATS!!!BelligerentBobcat wrote: ↑Wed Nov 05, 2025 2:00 pmIf this ranking holds true through the end of the year, we have a good chance at a second Cat-Griz, but in Bozeman.
But none are against a top 10 in committees ever where as Cats could have win vs UCDTomCat88 wrote: ↑Wed Nov 05, 2025 2:12 pmConversely, if they win all three convincingly, then they might jump MSU if the Bobcats struggle. I don’t think it will be a simple as a win or a loss, but the margin as wellThe MICKSTER wrote: ↑Wed Nov 05, 2025 2:19 pmCould be. If it’s a close game, I don’t think the loser goes below 3. Especially because after the top 3, the teams aren’t real strong. The MICKSTER wrote: ↑Wed Nov 05, 2025 2:19 pmCould be. Maybe a close loss only drops either of us to the #3 spot.....we'll see. Beating the gris twice in the same year, once at wa-gris and once at Bozeman would be delightfulBelligerentBobcat wrote: ↑Wed Nov 05, 2025 2:27 pmIf it’s a close game, I don’t think the loser goes below 3. a lot of this depends on SDSU’s health.
Agreed. I think it's pretty likely they drop at least one more.cats2506 wrote: ↑Wed Nov 05, 2025 2:01 pmFrom what I hear they are still pretty banged up and have @USD, Illinois St, and @UND left on the schedule.GoldstoneCat wrote: ↑Wed Nov 05, 2025 1:33 pmThis is fascinating for the Cats IMO. to me it looks as though the committee is not fully sold on the griz record but are giving them a temporary benefit of the doubt. otherwise i think they would have ranked them higher than the cats. this tells me that the griz will fall further than the cats if the lose the brawl.catatac wrote: ↑Wed Nov 05, 2025 2:52 pmSo assuming the Cats and Griz both win the next two and the Brawl is fairly close, is there any universe where either of them drops out of the top 4? I don't think so, and I think that's what BB has been posting. I don't think they could put a Lehigh or Tarleton above the Cat\Griz loser... and I certainly don't think they could put BOTH of them above.
We could fall to 5 if we lose both UCD and Cat-griz but otherwise the furthest either team will drop is to 4 and even that would probably require a 20+ point loss.catatac wrote: ↑Wed Nov 05, 2025 2:52 pmSo assuming the Cats and Griz both win the next two and the Brawl is fairly close, is there any universe where either of them drops out of the top 4?
