The drawing looks like a maximum of 21K to 22K seats. Maybe there’s a plan for an upper deck in a subsequent phase?

Re: New Master Plan - Finally!!
I think that the drawing easily has more than 21-22K total seats even as rendered without an upper deck. The east side structure is raised to the height of the existing end zone and multiple new sections of seating are added wrapping around the corner of the field that do not currently exist. There are also several new sections of seating in the northwest end zone wrapping around in that corner, again where no seating currently exists as well as new permanent seating in the north end zone in front of the football building.

I agree. Why did they not fill in the corners with more seats?coloradocat wrote: ↑Wed Oct 29, 2025 3:04 pmThey spent however much money on designing a new master plan and they couldn't figure out how to wrap the seating around the corners of the south endzone? I sure hope they add that whenever they do this so it doesn't look so piecemeal.
Anyway, looks like a nice improvement.

Still no mention of the mythical big gift, but we should see some fan surveys and studies coming soon. Okay, I kid, Leon has done a magical job in his tenure here. I have my checkbook ready. I can fund a some hand railings, bench seating, and maybe a bag of concrete or two.

Just a hunch/opinion, but it seems like they wouldn't announce these plans if they didn't have most(if not all) of the funding in place. At the very least, I gotta believe they have an idea where the money is coming from(perhaps a "big gift?) With the current landscape of CFB being how it is, these upgrades need to happen yesterday. Again, just one guy's speculation.

I think a significant amount needed is already secured.

Re: New Master Plan - Finally!!
I like your optimism, but this is the third big stadium expansion plan the Cats have announced in the past 17 years. They did build the South end zone 14 years ago, but that took Waded to push its construction. I have no doubt something is going on behind the scenes though. Time will certainly tell.FA_Q_M wrote: ↑Sun Nov 09, 2025 6:13 pmJust a hunch/opinion, but it seems like they wouldn't announce these plans if they didn't have most(if not all) of the funding in place. Re: New Master Plan - Finally!!
The timing of the all the big gift chatter and what i know about Castello gives me big time optimism. Costello seems cut from the same cloth as Cruzado. Previous "master plans" kinda seemed like vailed effort to pump up a program that was winning 7-8 games consistently. Costello combined with all these deep playoff runs make this new plan feels like more a "when" than an "if."AFCAT wrote: ↑Sun Nov 09, 2025 6:48 pmI like your optimism, but this is the third big stadium expansion plan the Cats have announced in the past 17 years. That’s how these things work. If they’re talking and promoting it this much, a lion share of the funding is in place.

I agree with this in general, but that seems more the case when you see them announce a specific project. This wasn’t a specific project announcement, but a group of projects where they were purposely vague on what the next step will even be.Common Cat wrote: ↑Sun Nov 09, 2025 10:36 pmThat’s how these things work. I’m not saying they don’t have some money lined up, and I’m cautiously optimistic they do to some extent. But releasing an update to a big picture, multi phase, multi year group of projects doesn’t scream “we have the money to start right away” to me.
It seems more like the message is along the lines of “we’ve done a lot of cool sh*t the last 6-7 years, and look at the next cool sh*t we want to do, help us get there”

Re: New Master Plan - Finally!!
I agree, until there’s concrete plans there’s nothing set in concrete including money. Money flows to tangible things and not just a “vision”. That doesn’t mean there isn’t sidebar conversations being had, but, writing checks happens when there is a concrete and tangible plan on the table and a deadline is in place.Catsrgrood wrote: ↑Sun Nov 09, 2025 11:19 pmI agree with this in general, but that seems more the case when you see them announce a specific project.
