I do think we had a great shot at winning last year and wish we’d have been more aggressive in the 1st half but many of you seem to be forgetting all the big games that had to be won to get us there.

Some of you should just go cheer for the pink team that prefers to buy wins instead of playing quality opponents. The 2 fumbles and blocked punt that turned into a TD and dumb penalties were far more deciding factors than the play calling.

We all want to win but I’m willing to bet that a lot of you look foolish at the end of the season.
But these comments are bonkers.
Cats are still a lock for the Semis and its not even close to the #4 team.
Absolutely, our defense is really strong and will get better as the year goes on. We will put up lots of good offensive performances this year as well
All I’m saying is we don’t have a championship caliber offense play caller. Doesn’t understand how to wear down a defense for the end of a game and give his defense rest
We are a damn good team but offensive play calling cost us tonight

That's an odd take, who are the four FCS teams that are clearly better than MSU at this point in the season?

We barely lost to SDSU with a new QB. You haven’t been a Cats fan for long if you haven’t learned how to deal with disappointment.gris_h8er wrote: ↑Sat Sep 06, 2025 10:10 pmYou didn’t answer the question. How many more times do you want to lose to the gris and dsu schools?
You can flaunt his record all you want but how many of those victories come against equally matched programs and rosters?

Bill Belicheck with Tom Brady is considered the greatest dynasty in pro football history & they went 77%. According to your numbers Vigen is 79% and just as good without Tommy as with.
People need to have a serious reality check.

I will go as far as saying we win out going into cat griz. We lost a hard fought game, we have lots of playmakers across the board but this falls on the OCcatgrad05 wrote: ↑Sat Sep 06, 2025 10:11 pmonceacat wrote: ↑Sat Sep 06, 2025 10:04 pmYeah, theres plenty to be critical of, in particular the OC calling 15 or so designed runs for Lamson...and whoever is in charge of the punt team...utucats wrote: ↑Sat Sep 06, 2025 9:53 pmThis board is nuts. 2 natty appearances. Don't let the punt squad off the hook. Lamson & the rest of the offense were plenty adequate against UO, but the punt team has been a ****** of missed blocks & unforced procedure pentaties that spotted opposing teams 14 points in 2 weeks.catgrad05 wrote: ↑Sat Sep 06, 2025 10:11 pmonceacat wrote: ↑Sat Sep 06, 2025 10:04 pmYeah, theres plenty to be critical of, in particular the OC calling 15 or so designed runs for Lamson...and whoever is in charge of the punt team...utucats wrote: ↑Sat Sep 06, 2025 9:53 pmThis board is nuts. 2 natty appearances. OC has me worried. Punt team has me scared ******. We are about one procedure penalty away from never punting under any circumstances for the rest of the season.

Accepting disappointment cause “they’re the cats” is ridiculous. There is no reason to not raise standards when the talent and money is being put into the program. It’s one thing for Cliff or Cramer to struggle against more well funded teams. However Vigen has better rosters, better facilities and a larger school. Seems like now is the time to raise expectations and take action to meet the higher expectations.utucats wrote: ↑Sat Sep 06, 2025 10:12 pmWe barely lost to SDSU with a new QB. Nothing wrong with raising the standards. Advocating for lower or lowering standards is embarrassing. Have some pride. Have some goals. “They’re not as bad as the cats have been in the past” is not a goal and it’s not worth saying out loud.
Only thing better than watching the gris lose is when the Cats win

Since you’ve lost all hope, you should find a new team. We won’t miss you and there are plenty to take your spot.

Re: The Unofficial Unofficial Official Gameday Thread
A lot of these posts are ridiculous. Vigen is a good coach who has dominated the in state recruiting battle, consistently brought in high level talent, and has led us to two natty appearances. It’s ridiculous to think we’d fire him. However, it’s also fair to say that we have a huge DSU problem. We cannot beat those guys. We lose every close game against them. I’m so sick and tired of the woulda, coulda, shoulda of these games. We lost. We’re not at their level until we actually WIN against them. And I’m sick and tired of losing these close games to the DSUs where we get out executed when it matters. But that’s a pretty good problem to have. 15 years ago, we would KILL to be a tier in our own right below the NDSUs and SDSUs of the world. So it’s not all sunshine and rainbows, but it’s not all storm clouds and sadness either.

Man up and learn to deal with disappointment. Your inability to control yourself is childish. When we end up deep in the playoffs I hope you don’t pretend to be back on the bandwagon.gris_h8er wrote: ↑Sat Sep 06, 2025 10:20 pmAccepting disappointment cause “they’re the cats” is ridiculous. Better than a shootout. 1000x better than NFL. Better than basketball extra period or extra innings.
Nothing else even comes close.
College OT is fundamentally a completely different format than the rest of the game. You're completely changing the rules of the game.
It's a different game altogether.
You're starting at the 25 without doing anything to earn getting there. First OT is basically guaranteed 3 points without even moving the ball. That's not football.
Of course you are going kick a 75% field goal without moving the ball. Thats what puts pressure on the other team.
BEST. OT. IN ANY SPORT, ANY LEVEL.
And not even close.
A FG is what puts pressure on the other team? To do what? Also kick a near guaranteed FG? Lol
Yes...
BEST
OT
IN
ALL
SPORTS
And its not even close.
It's not what football is.
Its football distilled to its most basic essence.
Like how whiskey isn't what corn is, its distilled into something even more perfect.

Sweet Jeezus you buffoon. Lay off the bottle.
Theres not a team on the schedule that will challenge the Bobcats until the Brawl.
Obvious first round bye, home field for 2nd round & the Quarters. Possible home field for the semis if NDSU or SDSU drop a game.

I’ll never be a Vigen supporter. Best that will happen is I say nothing. The first disappointment is a fact of life but doing nothing and accepting the second disappointment with no intention of correction or search for how to rectify it is childish. Saying this is the second disappointment isn’t childish, it’s delusional. Vigen consistently disappoints against equal competition.utucats wrote: ↑Sat Sep 06, 2025 10:23 pmMan up and learn to deal with disappointment. Your inability to control yourself is childish. Yeah, there are a lot of delusional fans on this board.

We showed tonight that we are easily a top four team. You put that SDSU in Missoula tonight, SDSU wins by 20+. Yes we have things to fix and work on, but this team should not be taken lightly and we will be a contender come playoff time.
Punters are people too!!

Phil Jackson had a 70% win record & he had at least 4 of the top 10 players to ever play BB on his teams.gris_h8er wrote: ↑Sat Sep 06, 2025 10:29 pmI’ll never be a Vigen supporter. Bill Belicheck had a 77% win rate with Tom Brady
Dean Smith had a 77% win rate.
Nick Saban had an 80% win rate.
Nick Saban is the only one in that group with a better W-L than Vigen.
