Re: Griz Week
I would imagine Hauck has been scheming for this game all season, and probably the off-season too. He'll have something up his sleeve. They punched us in the mouth early last season in Missoula and we never recovered. Hopefully our staff has some stuff specially for them too. But I would guess Hauck will come up with a wishbone run and shoot with a wing T double reverse Philly special or something. On defense I expect he'll just blitz everybody.

Also on offense we didn’t run anything at all creative i.e. reverses, fly sweeps, screens etc. What do you think they’ll do this week?

Being forever psychologically scarred after the streak I will never take this game for granted. I will always be ecstatic about a win. Any kind of win.

Dude, preach. People always ask why I'm not a guy that cheers for them when they aren't playing the Cats, etc. I'm like, I lived with that sneering condescension for 16 years. I don't have the faculties to do anything but wish them to fail. I'm scarred. I admit it.

Re: Griz Week
Griz don't have a Larrison. Kid did it all. Cats were 2 yards from closing it out 30-15. Drive where it's 30-8, King doesn't make contested catch, UCD does right after to get drive going. King catches that INFO range, burn another 2 minutes of clock.aucat wrote: ↑Sun Nov 17, 2024 1:31 pmAfter losing the fourth quarter 20-0 last night I'm not expecting us to blow the griz out. I'm still not sure what happened to us last night. Was UC Davis that much better than us in the fourth quarter? Or did our coaches play it too close to the vest given our 30-8 lead? Our rushing game struggled and we were outgained in yardage. Also, this was the first game that Tommy couldn't break loose for a good run. So I'm kinda confused, but hoping for our rushing game to really show back up against the griz.

I think the only possible way they could compete with the Cats is if they instantly changed their entire defensive scheme away from that God awful 3-3-5..... but that's not really possible this late in the game. Cats will run all over them.BelgradeBobcat wrote: ↑Sun Nov 17, 2024 8:19 pmI would imagine Hauck has been scheming for this game all season, and probably the off-season too. Re: Griz Week
You only have to look as far back as last year to know how this game can be very unpredictable. Last year at this time BN was brimming with optimism and we got waxed. Do I expect that to happen this year? Of course not. But the point is that it's a rivalry game and weird stuff can happen.

Re: Griz Week
That 3-3-5 defense looked pretty solid last year against the bobcats. Hopefully with the loss of their key NT, LB and SS it will look a lot different this year.catatac wrote: ↑Sun Nov 17, 2024 9:27 pmI think the only possible way they could compete with the Cats is if they instantly changed their entire defensive scheme away from that God awful 3-3-5..... but that's not really possible this late in the game. Re: Griz Week
Yes I watched the game. My problem is I lived through "the streak" and when Cat-Griz week arrives I start to stammer and I develop a few tics and twitches.
I am physically and mentally scarred from watching the griz come into Bobcat Stadium and beat us so many times back then. Like someone else said, I remember the griz fans in our own park lot laughing and sneering at us. I just cannot stand the griz. Watching UC Davis outscore us 20-0 in the fourth quarter kinda got to me. But I know that our players and coaches will be locked in on Saturday. I've just got to take long breaths and maybe drink a few extras in the tailgate before I head into the stadium.

I think UCD having a surge will keep our team grounded. I also think if we kept passing it we would’ve ended it 33 or 37 to 8. This game will either be sorta close with Fife behind the wheel or we will embarrass Bobby and company.aucat wrote: ↑Mon Nov 18, 2024 12:21 amYes I watched the game. I'm in that same boat. I root against the Griz every week even if it might help the Cats if they won... I can't help it.aucat wrote: ↑Mon Nov 18, 2024 12:21 amYes I watched the game. Seeing Davis shut us out the final 25 minutes and holding us to 150 rushing yards total was eye opening. But they have serious talent in the front 7. I doubt we'll struggle like that again until we face a Dakota State school. The griz don't have the personnel.

Fizz will go with fife. And as was stated by an earlier poster booby will scheme something. I'm predicting 5 WR sets ala don read and try to ride fifes arm. No way that ah yat plays unless fizz are really behind.

The Griz are one dimensional with Fife. I hope the Cats can pressure him nonstop and take away the passing attack. Also... DO NOT KICK TO BERGEN! I'm not worried about kickoffs, but if we punt, it better be headed toward the sideline.

Bergen wasn't even out there on returns in the PSU game on Saturday. It'll be interesting to see what his role is this week.
