Re: FCS Games 11/9
Our night game had pretty lousy ratings. Less than 100K viewers. Cats went up against a top 25 matchup in KSU vs CU, Gophers vs UCLA and a MLB playoff game, and a late Boise at Hawaii game though. I would bet the gris game got more eyeballs due to less competition although it did go up against The Holy War.

Re: FCS Games 11/9
I think the QB rotation is becoming something of an excuse for Griz fans/media.
It's not helping-- that's clear. And Ah Yat isn't a functional QB against higher level teams, so it stands to reason that it's always going to hurt to play him.
But neither QB is particularly good and neither is the offensive line.
I think fans are coping by saying "if they stopped rotating we would be winning more games," but the bottom line is that the personnel isn't good enough to place them among the elites of the FCS.
What should concern UM fans most about that is that this isn't a young team. Their most recent 2-Deep (offense/defense only):
Fr: 1 (no starters)
R-Fr: 5 (no starters)
So: 0
R-So: 3 (1 starter)
Jr: 0
R-Jr: 14
Sr: 7
R-Sr: 13
Gr: 1

Those comparisons on performance sure does make you wonder why they are rotating QBs...

Re: FCS Games 11/9
They're rotating because Hauck is trying to get off the portal carousel by actually developing a starter. Fife is clearly better, but he only has one season left after this and may transfer anyways. So they're trying to force it with Ah Yat, which is hurting the current team. The Butcher wrote: ↑Tue Nov 12, 2024 9:53 amThose comparisons on performance sure does make you wonder why they are rotating QBs...

Re: FCS Games 11/9
Exactly, After Fife got there he probably figured out that he was the better QB but that BH is a joke. I am thinking he graduates either in Dec or next spring and will be a free agent again. Bobby knows he needs to prep Ah Yat as much as possible is he is ever to develop a QB in house again.Lord Vigo wrote: ↑Tue Nov 12, 2024 9:55 amThey're rotating because Hauck is trying to get off the portal carousel by actually developing a starter. The funny part is that UM is still a playoff team and this season is already written off as a rebuilding year.

The biggest problem for Hauck 2.0 is that he's getting routinely out-recruited in-state, which has made him overly reliant on the transfer portal, which has prevented him from developing his team the way he wants to.cats2506 wrote: ↑Tue Nov 12, 2024 10:06 amExactly, After Fife got there he probably figured out that he was the better QB but that BH is a joke. They have something like five starters from MT and the best one was originally a Cat who only ended up there because of the transition from Choate to Vigen.
The last time Bobby was at UM, he could have virtually whoever he wanted from Montana without even having to try.
And the problem isn't going away. This current in-state recruiting class has been absolutely dominated by MSU.

Junior Bergen. He originally signed with MSU and then asked to be released after Choate left.Cats15 wrote: ↑Tue Nov 12, 2024 11:03 amLord Vigo wrote: ↑Tue Nov 12, 2024 10:54 amThe biggest problem for Hauck 2.0 is that he's getting routinely out-recruited in-state, which has made him overly reliant on the transfer portal, which has prevented him from developing his team the way he wants to.cats2506 wrote: ↑Tue Nov 12, 2024 10:06 amExactly, After Fife got there he probably figured out that he was the better QB but that BH is a joke. Re: FCS Games 11/9
It will be interesting to see how the end of the season plays out for them. There are rumblings that Bobby may have lost the locker room. Somebody said Fife did a late night X post that was deleted. Lots of frustration over there obviously. Will they rally and thrash PSU and then at least make the Cat Griz game competitive? We'll see. At this point I don't see how that Griz team could come into Bobcat Stadium and slow down our Best-In-The-Country offense much, if at all.

I saw the post. It was a gif of a guy shaking his head like "WTF are we doing?"catatac wrote: ↑Tue Nov 12, 2024 11:45 amIt will be interesting to see how the end of the season plays out for them. No doubt... thanks for sharing that as I did not see it but figured it had to be something negative. If I know Bobby, and that post indicates what it appears to - Ah Yat is probably going to be starting on Saturday.blueandgoldblitz wrote: ↑Tue Nov 12, 2024 11:48 amI saw the post. Re: FCS Games 11/9
I'm actually good with either of those dudes starting in Bobcat Stadium. Fife looks pretty good at times but he's an INT throwing machine, even going back to his Fresno State days. I think he probably has about as many INTs as TDs throughout his career.BelligerentBobcat wrote: ↑Tue Nov 12, 2024 12:52 pmHopefully in two weeks too.catatac wrote: ↑Tue Nov 12, 2024 12:23 pmNo doubt... thanks for sharing that as I did not see it but figured it had to be something negative. My guess is that he was playing this much to keep him happy so he doesn’t transfer.

He needs to care. Of course he won't reveal that he's a screw up coach, or there's a problem, but I bet he's losing the locker room. The fans have got to be growing weary of his shtick. Or they should be. Pathetic.

Re: FCS Games 11/9
I think recruits are starting to pay attention as well. Just look at the list of Montana kids who have committed to MSU this year versus the list going to UM. Good thing for Bobby that he Bergen'd his way to Frisco last year or I'm not sure if the fans and administration over there would have anywhere near this much patience with his crap.

Re: FCS Games 11/9
I'm not sold that the tweet was about what people think it was. I just don't see it. Fife was invited to talk at a presser early in the season and on his pod, CN pointed out how rare that is with BH. And spoke about his maturity. A mature qb doesn't tweet something meaning what people interpret it to be. So I just don't see it meaning what people thought it meant.
