It was Kiree Huie from Odessa JC in Texas. He's a 6' 9" sophomore at Odessa but is only 19 years old. The Cats offered him back in October and Sprinkle and staff were hoping to get a Verbal Commit from him this past weekend.

Coach Binford, at the pregame Fast Breakfast Club gathering, said to expect an announcement today regarding a transfer. She said the athlete would have four years eligibility and would probably red shirt. I assume it is Brooke from Billings.

Great news, seems like a similar situation to Grace Beasley last year in that Brooke can join the team and enroll in school in January, then play in the fall of '23. Coach Binford just keeps stacking up the talent!

With all the additions to WBB, who are we going to lose?

In theory, nobody apart from graduating seniors. MSU currently has 14 players on the roster, one below the scholarship limit of 15 for WBB. White, Bad Bear, and Jackson are seniors which drops them down to 11, and Berry would be the fourth new signing putting them up to 15 for the '23-'24 season. Now, if any of the three seniors decides to take advantage of the Covid year then that would change things.

14 on the current roster, 4 incoming true freshman, one incoming transfer (if true), lose 3 seniors, that equals 16. Someone (1) will be on the bubble.

You are correct, I forgot that Binford had already signed one player prior to the November signing period when the other three were signed.

I understand former Billings Skyview all state player Brooke Berry who received a full ride to New Mexico has entered the portal and has been in contact with MSU womens coaches 🤛.
...and Binford does have an open scholarship she could give to Ms Berry for the second semester \:D/
In the cart before the horse department, would Berry project as a point guard, shooting guard or small forward in a Binford system?
Turns out the horse had jumped in the cart and was enjoying the ride straight to MSU.

Past roster question. The 7' 3" guy that we recruited a couple of seasons ago. Where did he go and how has he done? Thinking he is still playing.

And the two bigs from ewu a few years ago that transfered out. Thinking one went to the Zags. How did they end up doing with their transfer?

Thanks...

Jasper Reinalda (the 7'3" guy) transferred to South Dakota Mines and is still listed on their roster, but as far as I can tell has never appeared in a game for them.

The Groves brothers from EWU both transferred to Oklahoma and are still there. They have done quite well, I believe one of them was honorable mention all-conference last year.

Looking forward to finding out more about the BOOM!

He is on the roster of South Dakota School of Mines but as far as i can tell he has not played in any games,

She needs to look at a knockdown 3pt shooter, or someone who's deadly at making shots from 5-8 feet away from the basket! Deden is about the only one who can make short shots in the paint. But even she misses bunnies sometimes.

Looks like a big athletic kid. pretty raw offensively, I assume. Also, it looks like he hasn't had a 10 rebound game all season. Not sure what to think of that.

Kiree Huie, from Odessa JC, is a great pick-up for the program. I am not sure he could have found a better Big man from the JC ranks. At 6-10 (as currently listed on Odessa's roster) and with very good athleticism we just don't find many big men like him in the Big Sky. Huei is leading the team in points (12.1/per game), rebounds (6.5/ per game), blocks (2/per game), shooting percentage (65.2), and minutes played (21.2 /per game). By the way all those stats have improved since the conference season started. Huei was ranked by JucoRecruiting.com as the #24 ranked junior college prospect in the nation. Odessa JC is a national power in the JC ranks having won numerous national championships and currently ranked #3 in the nation (they have been #1 for most of the season). It is not uncommon for Odessa to place 7-10 players a year with D-1 schools. This year their roster is deep with 10 players getting double-digit minutes.
