On Skyline's Big Sky Breakdown Colter and Brooks talk about QB injuries (after the obligatory clipboard discussion). We're one of three teams (which also happen to have the three best QBs) to have our starter healthy for every game so far. That's crazy. We're also probably the only team in the conference with a good QB that wouldn't see a big drop off if our starter went down.
MSU most likely has the best backup QB in the conference, a very good spot to be in since McKay is supposedly soft.
There's been some fans say that our backup would be starting at many other BSC teams which I have doubts about, but he would push out any backup QB in the conference with maybe one exception.
If he was good enough to start for us last season, he’s good enough to start for many of the teams in our league this season. That’s a testament to him, and a realization that we have some awful teams in our conference as well.
Not a bad problem for us to have.

Vigen said he thinks MSU will get a couple players back this week. Assuming he might mean Fitzgerald for one. I believe Steel is having surgery or already has. Anyone know Rygg’s status? Kendric Bailey?

I was thinking he may have been referencing Andrew Patterson too.

Oh yeah. I bet that’s one. Probably him and Fitzgerald.

James Campbell is close as well but may be a bit longer. Last I heard, Coy, Nolan, and Kyle are done for the season.

So many good DBs I forgot about Campbell.

You basically need to miss two seasons to get a medical waiver.

Probably, but after the free covid year, I doubt too many of these kids will want to stay in college for 6 years.
I've heard a few people complaining that the coaches should be redshirting Mellott because it's a waste to use his eligibility for just a few plays a game. But, same thing - due to covid he's already a second year freshman, maybe he doesn't want to be in college for 6 years?? I don't know the answer to that but I'm sure there will be at least some kids who came through the free covid year not wanting to be redshirted.

A little birdie told me that he is expected to return sometime the next couple weeks. Which is very unexpected, they thought he was out for the year, but he has worked hard rehabbing, and it’s looking promising. Good news.

He's going to be a doctor so I'm assuming it's 5 years then off the med school?

Theres an 8th year senior playing for ETSU. He redshirted, had a medical redshirt, graduated early & transferred, got another medical redshirt, then the covid year...I think he's 25. He's finishing up his 2nd Masters this semester.
I'm guessing that all of FCS sees a ton of grad transfers over the next couple of years.

I didn’t see it, but sounds like Zambrano went out with an injury (per vigen in the post game interview)...
Anyone know what happened? Or how serious?
Hope James Campbell can make it back soon.

I did not. He didn't come out after half time (didn't see him on the sideline either...but I could be wrong).

It was a knee - I believe left one. Iced on the sideline and changed into travel suit at halftime. He was on the sideline. Walked with a slight limp but not bad. No brace or crutches either.

Good news on zambrano. Hoping both he and Campbell can be ready to go for eastern. We will need our secondary at full strength.

That is excellent news! Hopefully Tyrel continues to knock the rust off and get back to 100% as well, and as you say if we get Z and C back - that would be the best case scenario because they will all need to play their best games of the season to take down EWU.
Great time to be a BOBCAT!
