He shined when he played in 2019, in only four games by the way to preserve his eligibility. He smoked the griz when he got the ball, sure on fly sweeps but he had great balance and speed. He also did a good job against UNC and scored against Southern Utah. He was dynamic with the ball. He didn't catch many passes because the Cats didn't throw much. Check out his JC film and he had some nice catches in the Sonny Holland scrimmage too.bobcat99 wrote: ↑Tue Apr 27, 2021 12:29 pmReally? He had some nice plays running jet sweeps, so basically as a pseudo RB. He never really showed much as a WR.
All this tells me is that we have younger and better players on the roster, so he’s leaving to get playing time elsewhere. Big loss? I just don’t see how.
A big loss would be Lewis Kidd, or Ifanse. Marshall? He’s replaceable.

Re: Transfers
Actually I wasn't, I don't like to mis-quote people and I did remember incorrectly. That said, I think the point was made here. IMO, if Marshall had stayed here he could have been the most dynamic receiver on the team, regardless of his position on the depth chart. I think of him as that player that could have replaced what we had with Travis Jonsen or TA when they had the ball in their hands. Hopefully Charles Brown or some other player on the roster becomes "that guy".Cataholic wrote: ↑Wed Apr 28, 2021 5:12 pmI think Catatac was being sarcastic in his comment.bobcat99 wrote: ↑Wed Apr 28, 2021 5:08 pmIt’s all good. Naw. Dynamic doesn’t mean the best. It’s just a describer of raw physical abilities.Cataholic wrote: ↑Wed Apr 28, 2021 5:12 pmI think Catatac was being sarcastic in his comment.bobcat99 wrote: ↑Wed Apr 28, 2021 5:08 pmIt’s all good. Interesting. Bummer but he must not have seen much of a future in Bozeman. Happy to see him find a good home with a good program.

Probably knew where he wanted to go and didn't need to enter the portal to drop to NAIA.mslacatfan wrote: ↑Thu May 06, 2021 1:29 pm

Good for him, he'll tear up the Frontier. Thought after last year, he was set to have a good year. Good Luck, Mr. Estes!

Rats, again. I thought Mark Estes always injected a spark into the offense. How much of a chance did he really get? He had sone speed, something we’ve been a bit short on.

Re: Transfers
Coach V. said he’d be having individual player meetings after the Sonny Holland Classic. Must have been true to his word. Quite a few not surviving. Knight is very athletic, but coming out of high school as a quarterback seems to have an effect on finding another position that worked.
