Unfortunately she’s probably feeling pretty damn good right about now. Most annoying fan base in the conference.kennethnoisewater wrote: ↑Sat Mar 13, 2021 5:17 pmI was just listening to ESPN radio about an hour ago, on the national game day show, and this lady called in who was an EWU fan. Just sounded like a typical Eagles fan. Said MSU got lucky to get to the chipper (she's probably not wrong there) and that EWU would win and then "go through a few brackets" when they got to the big dance. I'm not sure what that means but I assume she thinks Eastern is going to make it to the Sweet 16 or better. The radio host asked what EWU's mascot was and she told everybody what the actual eagle's name was, and talked about how she had a stuffed animal version. It was a great listen--if I had a radio show I'd want the dumbest sounding person to call in once in a while. Like interviewing people in a trailer park after a tornado comes through.

Our defense has honestly been decent, especially lately. Offense...not so much. Can we find a spark somewhere?

I’m impressed with Hood, too. He and Tynes could be a good 1-2 punch.mslacatfan wrote: ↑Sat Mar 13, 2021 7:44 pmMy favorite player on the team. We actually settled down the last 8 minutes or so. We just have to find a way to score about 3 times as much in the second half.

Down 14. Came back from 10 down at the half last night. Can we do 14?
Can't make up my mind as to which is better - 55-21 or 48-14.

It’s all about shooting. 0-10 from 3 pt. A couple in-and-out bunnies. Hit normally and it’s a 4-pt game.

Hotter than two rabbits in a burlap sack?
Sorry, missing Cravens’ commentary.

It’s the three point shooting that will kill us. 0-10. Right now. If we can hit 2 or 3 might have a chance but 14 down from 19 down is very different from 10 down with suu hitting a couple at the end of the half like last night. Has to be some defense in the paint to get this close. Go cats.

Re: Cats Vs. Eags
How does a Danny Sprinkle team shoot so poorly? Seriously. These are D-1 college basketball players tossing up those bricks. If Fernandez jacks another three I'm going to lose it. Put Bellach in. He couldn't do any worse. Mike Hood comes in for the first time in a couple of games and hits a medium range jumper...then promptly misses his defensive assignment and gives up a three...which is why he hasn't been playing. Heart and grit will only get you so far-then skill needs to carry you the rest of the way. EWU has loads of skill.

Playing very tentative on offense. I’d like to see us pull the trigger with a little more confidence and go strong to the hoop.
Defense has been solid, though I’d like to see some more pressure on the ball.
Officials have been letting them play, though one ref is consistently inconsistent.

I believe we outscored them by 1 the second 10 minutes. The start was a killer though. We have to find someone who can make shots and just keep competing. I'm proud of the fight and refusal to quit though.

Is that the guy who didn’t call Aiken for climbing on our back, but called Ewu for breathing on Adamu during the breakaway?wbtfg wrote: ↑Sat Mar 13, 2021 8:04 pmPlaying very tentative on offense. I’d like to see us pull the trigger with a little more confidence and go strong to the hoop.

I don't want to be the downer here but Tanner Groves barely played in the last 10 minutes. Eastern moves the ball so well. Let's see if Sprinks can come up with a genius game plan at halftime--it will take something huge.

I am not even sure you are a Cats fan. Have you ever posted anything positive?BelgradeBobcat wrote: ↑Sat Mar 13, 2021 8:04 pmHow does a Danny Sprinkle team shoot so poorly? Seriously. These guys are battling and trying to stay in the game despite an off night shooting. Every team has nights that the shot won’t drop. I expect our kids will keep fighting with Sprinks at the helm. Just hoping more shots start to fall.
