I'm moving past the point at nervously laughing at the tinfoil-hat-MAGA crowd, and I'm starting to become legitimately scared. These idiots are friggin' insane, and there's a frightening amount of them. I was downtown minding my own business on my way to get my hair cut today, and got caught up in a small but batsh!t crazy crowd of Pro-Trump, flag-waving, semi-automatic open-carrying MAGAts. I was extremely uneasy and a little scared. I just don't see any reason people need to be carry rifles and semi-automatic weapons around in downtown Boise? Freedom to bear arms doesn't give carte blanche to be a dangerous asshole.

I don't even know how to respond to that. News flash - I AM a conservative. I'm certainly no Republican, because I feel the heart of that entire party has been stolen by the Trumpublicans, and what I grew up thinking of the Republican Party is no longer that.

As a conservative myself, I have not felt that I've personally "had to put up with" any threats to myself or my family for the last 4 years from "liberals" or Democrats. As a generalization, those parties seem to be trying to stop this rather than incite it. Yes, there are radical far-left terrorists too, and I denounce them the same. Portland is a special city to me, it's where I got engaged to my wife and has always been one of our favorite getaway places, and my heart has hurt watching what's happening there this past year. It's ALL wrong. Stop with the comparisons and tit-for-tat BS, I'm sick of it. Two wrongs do not make a right.

Watching Trump take down the GOP in a way that may take a generation to fix is exhausting. Watching the Capitol fall for the first time since 1814 by armed combatants carrying flags that swear allegiance to an individual and not the United States is exhausting.

I could go on and on. This nightmare needs to end as soon as possible.

I agree. I would have voted for Democratic Joe Manchin for President over either Trump or Biden. No question that the Republican Party was hurt by Trumps tactics last week, but just two months ago people were talking about how many seats the Democrats lost in the House due to their overly progressive agendas. I fully expect things will get back to normal as Trump sails into the sunset and the next scandal emerges in DC.
