You’d be surprised. Obviously they are ready and wanting to play a real game, but at the expense of the real season? These guys know what matters, and what doesn’t, and the spring season is an injury waiting to happen and does nothing but hurt the real season chances.CelticCat wrote: ↑Fri Jan 08, 2021 11:06 amConsidering they haven't played a snap of real football since 12/21/2019, 384 days as of today, they just might be.bobcat99 wrote: ↑Fri Jan 08, 2021 10:16 amThe players are SUPER stoked to play a meaningless 6-8 games in miserable weather, and then get a month or so off to get ready for the real season.MSU01 wrote: ↑Fri Jan 08, 2021 9:33 amI hear what you're saying, although I'd guess that the remaining players and coaching staff would have some different views on this than us as fans.AFCAT wrote: ↑Fri Jan 08, 2021 9:20 amThe first game is scheduled for February 27th, so practice will be starting very soon. Choate leaving for Boise, IMO, would be a terrible reason on its own to drop out of the spring season, and extremely unfair to the coaches and players who will still be part of the MSU program even if he goes. I'm sure there are mixed opinions among players and coaches about how much they want to be out there in the spring for 6 games, but it seems like the decision has been made already to play.
I guess my main question is if it's even an option at this point for MSU or another individual school to "bail out" and decide to not play this spring.

Now that Choate is still our head coach, if we win the natty in the spring, does it count or not?

Re: Spring football schedule
This is a strange situation for the Missouri Valley Football Conference. Would they dare risk canceling their season and costing the Bizon a shot at their 37th consecutive national championship? Is this why NDSU played that weird one-off game against Central Arkansas? Does their undefeated 1-0 season get them into the playoffs if the MVFC does not play? Considering the track record of COVID-19 in the upper Midwest, anything’s possible.

Just drove by and they're back out there. I'm sure Matt "Douche Bag" Kelley will try to hold attendance to fifty people for all home games. Of course, all masked up and spread out.

I've disagreed with a lot of Kelley's actions. That said, what an impossible job to have this past year. If he's not pissing off guys like me, he's pissing off the the other 50% of the population. Rock and hard place for sure.
