I was just looking at his Twitter feed this morning and I thought; “I bet he signs with MSU.”

Looks like a very good player, and with offers from Penn and Army, a great student as well.

Welcome to the family.

I think he's gonna be a top player. Gives very little separation. Not tall, but creates a very tiny window to complete passes into.

MSU - 15 team National Champions (most recent 2021); 57 individual National Champions (most recent 2023).

Agree...Choate and staff have done a great job of recruiting DB's.

I might have skimmed over him, but what number is he? Size?

Oh, I'm just braggin' a little. He's been kicking ass in practice and I predicted he'd be good when he signed. It's probably too soon to proclaim victory, but I've got my acceptance speech prepared for the day Woodard makes first team All-BSC.

He's a corner. Not sure what his number is. True frosh. I have a little write up on him in the recruiting thread for that year, 2021.
SIMEON WOODARD, San Antonio, Tex. - cornerback

I believe he's wearing #9 in practice...at least in the clips I've seen.

Thanks for the info gentleman. At that size, will he hold up to a full season? I’d like to see him get his four games and a season of college eating and lifting.

Jalen Cole was 5-9, 160. He had a bad injury in the Cat-Griz Game in 2018. I'm not sure if he's playing here or anywhere right now. I don't know that his injury had anything to do with his size. Looked like a fluke thing. He had his head in the wrong place on a tackle and injured his neck as I recall.

Tyrel Thomas is about the same size (5-8, 170) and he has done well. Tyrel is pretty buff though.

That's one of the great things about FCS football. It gets the great players that don't have the prototypical dimensions. There are a lot of really good athletes out there that don't totally look the part, but that can really play the game.

Ty Okada is a great example of that. I was sure that he was too slight. Almost reminds me of a shorter Mark Grimmer. Both hit like trucks for as small as they are/were.
