This an impressive commit. He was first team all state as a junior. Led team to an undefeated season and state championship in what is comparable to Montana’s Class A division. He reminds a lot of last year’s Gatorade Player of the Year, Tommy Mellot.

Looks like his brother or relative plays for Western. Sean is a very good hoop player as well. Kuna has an enrollment of 1,500, so that's more like a AA Montana high school. They moved from 4A to 5A and will compete in 5A this fall. Looking for some football stats on him. He's a 247 2-star.
He lit up the state title game with 22-30-0 passing for 327 yards and three TDs. His three TD passes came on successive drives in the second quarter as Kuna battled back from a 13-0 first quarter deficit to go ahead 35-21 at halftime. Very good numbers for a title game.

This is a great pick up for the Cats. He shows great athleticism, with a quick release on his throws. His throwing motion reminds me of the way Prukop threw the ball. Will be interesting to see how his senior season plays out, how well he plays against top competition and if any other offers that may come along with that.

I totally see the Prukop comparison, especially when he throws in the run. He’s got the ball in a position to get rid of it quickly when somebody comes open. I think it was the second play — I thought Fran Tarkenton was back. What an elusive dude. He’s gonna get a look at QB way before he becomes a safety.Team10 wrote: ↑Mon Jun 22, 2020 9:33 pmThis is a great pick up for the Cats. He shows great athleticism, with a quick release on his throws. Even while scrambling- keeps eyes down field - reminds me of a Running Back Coach we had

So are we getting Rudy, or Samwise Gamgee?
In all seriousness, looks like a fun player. Some natural escapability. Funky throwing motion. Seems similar to Mellott, so maybe they're dialing into their type more now.

What’s funky about his throwing motion?

Boy, the QB room is going to be full of competition! Our body type and style of QB has changed in Coach's term here. I like it. You are going to have to be on top of your game to earn that position at MSU!! Sean Austin looks to have a lot of mobility and quick release. The future is bright. I am going to still hang my hat on Touchdown Tommy Mellot, I will will trust my Butte friends opinion, that he is our Dave Dickenson.
