50,000 people died of pneumonia last years and nobody gave a rats

Don't even start the project, a few workers could get pneumonia and die :coffee:
You don't die from the virus, you die from the pneumonia it causes. I agree, put the project of for a couple months.
Since 85 to 90% of the deaths are folks over the age of 70 and not too many folks on this construction crew are likely to be over 70 I think we can start up anytime... and generally I don’t see the crew huddled up too close together.... so probably good social distancing.

Remember, still have about 12,000 deaths a week from heart disease in the U.S. which is higher than Covid.... so I suppose we could defer construction until the construction crew all gets their blood pressure, BMI, cholesterol, fitness level up to snuff.

So with Covid, normal flu, pneumonia, and general health conditions we might be breaking ground by........... well...by never.🤷‍♂️🤦‍♂️
Heart attacks aren't virulent....you can't catch one from someone else and they can be prevented by a lifestyle! With Covid its more like a serial killer! No one knows when it will strike!

Very true. Please lock your door and stay locked in your house. It's best for you and us out in the real world.

You guys are arguing about a moot point, which began when someone responded to a month-old post that was made when the situation was far more uncertain with regards to this project. Construction's starting soon and the building will be ready for the 2021 season as originally scheduled - great news!.

Anyone know if we'll get a webcam during construction?

There will be a new video board that fits on the existing supports. It may no be ready by 2021 so it may be a 2022 addition.

Its early May....did anyone drive by the stadium, is it done? Any demo? We all need a distraction, something positive, loved seeing the pics of the End Zone as it went up.

I'll go up tomorrow with a shovel and wheel barrow just to get this thing moving.

I still think the original design was 1000 times better looking than what they are building. What they are building is 1000 times better than what is there now though. In the end, just happy something is being built. If they finish this though and keep the same scoreboard/video screen....what a waste!! That thing needs to go. I hope they put in something that is bigger and has way better screen quality. Also, can we fix our sound system while we are doing all this?

I believe Learfield upgraded our fieldhouse video board as well as UM football's video board. I'd imagine there's something in the works for Learfield to do the football stadium's board in the future. I also imagine that the business shutdowns due to covid are hitting Learfield pretty hard right now.

They are working on replacement of the video board with hope it will be in place by opening of 2021. They can use the same support system so much easier install this time.

Which original design are you referring to? The renderings originally released with the Facilities Plan are all of the "finished product" - i.e. the building currently under construction and also the proposed future addition to add a third story to the building and a second building closer to Kagy. I don't see anything in the current renderings to suggest that Phase 1 is significantly different from what it was always supposed to be. Maybe I've missed some renderings along the way.

The plan he might referring too, had end zone seating, "bowled in" with the new building tied to the back of it. What I'm guessing was either suites or the weight room over looking the field above the seat's. That might have been the next phase after, the other end zone had even started.
