This will tie the stadium together. It will cover the entire width of that EZ. Some skyboxes over the East grandstand would wrap it up.MSU01 wrote: ↑Thu Feb 13, 2020 2:15 pmThis is an incredible amount of hand-wringing about something we haven't even seen yet. And those asking if the building will look fancy "enough" for their tastes should, in my opinion, probably be more concerned about whether the inside of the building will have the facilities and amenities that will help MSU keep kicking the Griz' asses like they did this year and that will help MSU to go from national semifinalist to national champion.
The stadium is currently a mish-mash of the original 1970s east side structure, the 1990s west side structure, and the 2010s end zone. This new building will hopefully set the tone for a coherent look moving forward as future phases of renovation are funded, and I'm sure we'll all be very happy with the ultimate result as long as progress continues to be made.

I don't think this picture does it any justice. It just looks like a brick building at the edge of an open field. I'm sure it looks better when you can see a stadium basically surrounding it. MSU's will look great with the rest of the stadium flanking it on each side.BleedingBLue wrote: ↑Thu Feb 13, 2020 12:29 pmSDSU's facility in that picture. I get that, I'm currently doing the very same thing and I'm spending my money making these same decisions. The point is simple, it doesn't have to look like a strip mall on the outside to be cost effective. I like the design in general but agree the aesthetic is important as well. Looking at the design for the total renovation I was of the impression that what we were going to finally dial into was something that looked a lot like SDSU. My opinion, which is simply that, is to keep the "mountains" on the West side and accent the stadium additions to fit. But, I'm not going to be paying for it because I'm deep into my project and this is what I think people are saying. Nobody is going to be upset with the final result because progress is good and it will help the team!

This link shows a picture of that building as part of the stadium. HUGE DIFFERENCE! We can only hope that ours will look just as nice.kennethnoisewater wrote: ↑Thu Feb 13, 2020 3:49 pmI don't think this picture does it any justice. Anyone know if they awarded this yet?
MSU - 15 team National Champions (most recent 2021); 57 individual National Champions (most recent 2023).

No secret, I’m sure it will all come out soon. Just very early and I’m not gonna announce anything prior to the school doing it.

If you're telling people in PM's you're still announcing it. If it was a public bid there should be results somewhere that are public knowledge.ibleedblue wrote: ↑Sat Feb 15, 2020 6:33 pmNo secret, I’m sure it will all come out soon. Is there an updated rendering showing the layout in regards to how much it will close in the north end zone? I know it sits back behind the block houses, but will it more or less connect the east and west sides to create a closed in feel to the stadium? Or at least set up the future north end zone stands to bowl in the north end??

You have no idea what I said in PM. Maybe Tom and I are good pals who go way back. Or maybe I just like him more than othersluckyirishguy25 wrote: ↑Sun Feb 16, 2020 10:17 amIf you're telling people in PM's you're still announcing it. Telling your best friend would still violate a non disclosure agreement. I'm guessing you piped up to let everyone know your special because you know something others don't. Congrats.ibleedblue wrote: ↑Sun Feb 16, 2020 1:21 pmYou have no idea what I said in PM. Maybe Tom and I are good pals who go way back. You sure assume an awful lot from a message that said “sent you PM”. It’s almost impressive.luckyirishguy25 wrote: ↑Sun Feb 16, 2020 2:49 pmTelling your best friend would still violate a non disclosure agreement. The plan all along was to start to break ground towards the end of March, with the middle of April being more realistic. I would actually be surprised if they have already made a decision yet.

Re: Bobcat Athletic Complex...Construction
I think there are some legitimate reasons why some people are let down by the graphics that have been released up to this point. When the master plan came out, the video showed the BAC as something that would really tie our stadium together. It was large but most importantly (visually) was it was tall. I, like many others really liked what I saw. I saw something that would really increase the look and noise in the stadium. That was the vision in my mind and obviously others as well. Since then, fundraising efforts were completed and some graphics have been released of what the BAC might look like. Obviously much different from what was first released. I think this project on the inside will improve the football program drastically. I also think that the outside look of the BAC will still be something we are all really impressed with once its finished. We cant all get what we wanted. And for me that was the same look that was put out in the Master Plan video. However, highly unlikely I will be unimpressed once its built. Go Cats.
Hating the griz since 02.
