Hopefully he can get to a summer camp as well.VimSince03 wrote: ↑Wed Dec 18, 2019 12:01 pmBlake Thelen also received really good reviews this year from the coaching staff. Choate has mentioned to a few that he's ahead of his development at QB.bobcat99 wrote: ↑Wed Dec 18, 2019 11:59 amThat's fair. I hope you're right!VimSince03 wrote: ↑Wed Dec 18, 2019 11:53 amI would've agreed with you prior to Tommy's senior season. He improved enough for me to consider him a legit FCS quarterback recruit.bobcat99 wrote: ↑Wed Dec 18, 2019 11:49 amI don't really agree.VimSince03 wrote: ↑Wed Dec 18, 2019 11:41 amBased on how well Tucker performed down the stretch, the signing of Matt McKay, and the signing of "Touchdown" Tommy Mellott, I feel much better about Grady decommitting.
McKay doesn't change a lot. Same graduation date as Rovig.
I like Mellott, but I'm just skeptical of him being a BSC QB. Hope I'm wrong, but I'm just not seeing it.
I'd like to see another recruit or young transfer brought in. Obviously, lots of time.

What are the odds that he’s an immediate replacement?VimSince03 wrote: ↑Wed Dec 18, 2019 12:36 pmBrayden Konkol replacement.BleedingBLue wrote: ↑Wed Dec 18, 2019 12:34 pmForgive me for not knowing this, but what position does/will he play for us?
I know that’s a lot to ask, but is he a kid who’s going to come in and possibly be ready to roll? Or will he need a couple years of development?

How does the Prep school year work with redshirt years? Does it count as a redshirt? Or is his clock the same as every other incoming freshman?

Watch this highlight tape and see for yourself. Hell...the kid even moves around like Brayden.Catsrgrood wrote: ↑Wed Dec 18, 2019 12:40 pmWhat are the odds that he’s an immediate replacement?VimSince03 wrote: ↑Wed Dec 18, 2019 12:36 pmBrayden Konkol replacement.BleedingBLue wrote: ↑Wed Dec 18, 2019 12:34 pmForgive me for not knowing this, but what position does/will he play for us?

Going to post his track results one more time:
At 6'3", 215 lbs., Brody put up these numbers at State C track this spring:
100M - 11.15 (2nd)
200M - 22.82 (2nd best state time; scratched in finals after setting that time in prelims.)
Shot Put - 51' 7" (1st)
Long Jump - 21' 8.5" (1st)
Triple Jump - 45' 6.75" (1st)
When you place at state in running, jumping, AND throwing events, you are a special athlete.

Not unreasonable at all. The kid is an absolute stud athletically and a genius in the classroom. Had offers from about 5 Ivy's. GREAT get.

Re: Early Signing Day - Wednesday, Dec 18
I am from Butte (graduated in '91 from Great Falls). I watched Tommy pretty close, and I watched Dave really, really close back in the day. I too compare Tommy to Dave. Style of play maybe not so much; but character, smarts, work ethic, toughness are something that they really share. They both have the "it" factor, but yet modest and extremly grounded. Never satisfied. Obviously Dave is 100% proven, and Tommy is not yet, but I'd be willing to bet that Dave wouldnt be upset by me making this comparison.superbobcat wrote: ↑Wed Dec 18, 2019 12:19 pmI had a friend from Butte describe Mellott as the next Dave Dickenson. Now this guy, is highly involved in Butte sports and knows his stuff and his Butte history. I was pretty excited to hear that comparison, because Mellott is special and we just have to give him time to adjust to the Big Sky.
Edit* forgot the most important. Undisputed Leader

Prep school. Brody graduated from Melstone High School in 2019 this past May. Not sure but I think it works the same as a JC so Brody would have 4 years to play 3 at MSU.Montanabob wrote: ↑Wed Dec 18, 2019 12:46 pmHow could he not sign with us he came from a Choate high School.

This, all day. Could be a 4 year starter. It was a traveshamockery letting him get away last year. So glad he's coming back!VimSince03 wrote: ↑Wed Dec 18, 2019 12:36 pmBrayden Konkol replacement.BleedingBLue wrote: ↑Wed Dec 18, 2019 12:34 pmForgive me for not knowing this, but what position does/will he play for us?

You could be right but I don't think so. I think he has 4 to play 4 or even still has 5 to play 4. I'd be interested to know for sure.VimSince03 wrote: ↑Wed Dec 18, 2019 12:47 pmPrep school. Also, there has been talk of Washington and NC State drop downs (other than Matt McKay) who could still enter the fold this spring or summer. Stay tuned.
