Why would anybody ask a question about how Albany will deal with the Montana weather? Albany is not exactly tropical and the weather forecast for Saturday is 40 degrees.

I agree.....no one worries about Buffalo when they have to play in Green Bay.

Altitude is a much better question, if you are going to ask a question like that.

Haha, and coach Choate was very dismissive about the altitude difference when Jason Alvine asked during the Monday presser.

Eric Curry STILL makes me sad.

Which Choate was spot on about! Altitude doesnt make a big enough difference that a team would win or lose because of it.

Hating the griz since 02.

Sounds like something a griz fan would ask :-^

Coach Gattuso mentioned that Abany's head volleyball coach went to Montana State. Close, he was an assistant Volleyball coach here, he went to Michigan State.

Pickard comes to UAlbany after serving as the first assistant coach at Montana State the past three seasons as the recruiting and defensive coordinator. He coached four all-conference players and was responsible for the budgeting and team travel.

I didn't ask a question about weather. I said, "Usually, weather for teams from different parts of the country coming to Montana in December is a story line but in this game, it's not. What's your plan to come to Bozeman?"

And he took it and ran with the weather narrative.

The travel plan question was good. Are they attempting to use Allegiant?

He said they were flying Thursday night, practice Friday morning and sight-see on Friday afternoon

Let's run the tabs high on Friday night for the kind visitors from Albany!

That might be how you intended to ask your question and it may be how you think you asked it but I beleive the following is more accurate.

So often when teams come to Montana they're not used to the weather at this time of the year, but it sounds like you have some snow. So what do you think of that dynamic, how accustomed is your team to playing in the cold and snow and wintery weather?

I'd bet most any thing and amount that my recollection is more accurate than yours on this. Don't get me wrong your interview was good as usual and I openly admit it is petty of me to point the previous out, but words should matter to a journalist and accuracy needs to be a cornerstone of your integrity.

I am curious if they get the lake effect snow from Lake Ontario? Think it is fairly close.

Not really according to my wife's uncle who was a pilot out of Albany for many years. Albany is over 100 miles from lake Ontario.

Truth. Journalists are REALLY bad at 7:30 a.m. operating on East Coast time....

I did not phrase the question how I wanted but it led to revelations that included their plan to find an indoor practice facility and their specific challenges of getting their field cleared. So that was productive.

Listening to their coach-he reminds a little of Craig Bohl. He said all the right things, but he doesn't sound the least concerned about Montana State. He seems extremely confident in his team. So I've been having flashbacks to 2010. MSU was coming off a huge win over the griz. We secured a first round bye. We watched NDSU play Robert Morris. Even though NDSU won easily, they really didn't look that impressive. NDSU had an okay season, but their schedule and results didn't worry anyone. MSU was heavily favored and we were all super confident. NDSU had a freshman quarterback-Brock Jensen. A big strapping kid-but didn't really scare our defense. Then came game day. Beautiful weather. If I remember right, we held a slight lead going into the 4th quarter. But then our defense, worn to a pulp by a punishing NDSU offensive line, just folded and the score got out of hand really quick. Somebody talk me from the ledge. I started the week thinking we are going to roll...but then 2010 pops into my head.

settle down, UA is nowhere close to as physical or has as many athletes at the 2010 Bizon, This MSU defense is way better and deeper than the 2010 Cats were. This years MSU team is a lot more like the 2010 Bizon than anything I have seen in awhile.
