Re: SUU Replay
I gotta say. Upon further review that fumble was caused by Andersen. I don't like to take something away from someone (they gave Hill credit for the FF) or heap too much praise on one guy, but you have to give the stat to the guy that got it. So 8 tackles, 2 sacks, 3 TFL, one INT, one forced fumble, and one PBU.
MSU - 16 team National Champions (most recent 2024); 57 individual National Champions (most recent 2023).

Re: SUU Replay
He was nominated for BSC Def. POW. He wasn't going to win it though, because that Walker for UNC went nuts. FF on first play led to a TD, Pick-6, a second interception late down on the goal line.

He was nominated by MSU for D-POW.
You can go to the BSC website and fact check it. They list all the nominees in the award article.

Re: SUU Replay
Internally, MSU's defensive player of the game title was shared by Amandre Williams and Josh Hill. It's a little interesting that they would give that title to those guys and then externally nominate somebody else for the league-wide award.LTown Cat wrote: ↑Mon Nov 04, 2019 10:54 pmAh my bad then. Why? If I had that option I would’ve done the same thing. Recognize as many as possible. Williams and Hill played great. So did Benson, but he wasn’t singled out. I’m sure none of them really care, they just want to win games.kennethnoisewater wrote: ↑Wed Nov 06, 2019 1:03 pmInternally, MSU's defensive player of the game title was shared by Amandre Williams and Josh Hill. Re: SUU Replay
Somewhere in another life 45 plus years ago I knew a coach who often picked multiple players of the game. Player A was picked because he had the numbers that showed up on the stats sheet. Player B was often picked because he made a lot of A's success possible but didn't have the stats to show. If a player C was picked it was a player who had performed far above his average. He had other criteria for his selections also.iaafan wrote: ↑Wed Nov 06, 2019 1:34 pmWhy? If I had that option I would’ve done the same thing. Recognize as many as possible. I have no insight into coach Choate's selection process.

I didn't say it was a bad thing, I just said I think it's a little interesting. If you're wondering why I think it's interesting, I'm not sure I'll have a satisfactory answer for you.iaafan wrote: ↑Wed Nov 06, 2019 1:34 pmWhy? If I had that option I would’ve done the same thing. I didn’t think you thought it was a bad thing. It just seems understandable to me.kennethnoisewater wrote: ↑Wed Nov 06, 2019 2:20 pmI didn't say it was a bad thing, I just said I think it's a little interesting. Re: SUU Replay
I see it's on ATT, which is Root RM. Following this game is a replay of the MSU-Utah State basketball game.

Re: SUU Replay
And what you're saying makes sense. But initially, what was interesting is that MSU presumably picked who they perceived was the best defensive player(s), then they picked another best player. The logic does make sense, but it's an interesting concept that I'm now fully behind.iaafan wrote: ↑Wed Nov 06, 2019 2:55 pmI didn’t think you thought it was a bad thing. Re: SUU Replay
Boy was it. It was tied with about 3 minutes left but the CATS had a couple of possessions that they didn't execute very well and their defense wasn't what it was all game, and they found themselves down by 8 with no timeouts and about 90 seconds left......coulda, shoulda,woulda....
