Great effort indeed! $16.5 million has been raised ALL from private donors. Compare that to the other EZ project. I think just half of the $10 million was private. Compare that to UM’s similar facility, which only got $10 million of the total $14 million from private donors.ilovethecats wrote: ↑Tue Jul 02, 2019 9:08 amI feel like this is pretty typical for this kind of effort. They need to get that Goal Tracker web page going as well as the 10.00 donation Texting again. That worked very well on the last bit of the endzone project.

Not that it ultimately makes any difference....but hasn't this fund raiser had a very long runway? It just didn't come about when Costello got here. Seems it "began" during the latter part of Fields tenure.

It will help, but we would need 150,000 donations at $10 each to raise $1.5 million. At $100 each, we still need 15,000 contributors.Cat4LifeHouseDivided wrote: ↑Tue Jul 02, 2019 12:23 pmI was just saying this to some friends. I can't remember how much was left for the Endzone when they did that, but that bar moved pretty quickly upward. I do think there was a 50/50 match of donations from the QB club if I remember right. Maybe there was a big donor that closed the gap late, but the bar was moving pretty good early on when they did that.Cataholic wrote: ↑Tue Jul 02, 2019 12:54 pmIt will help, but we would need 150,000 donations at $10 each to raise $1.5 million. How about a surcharge for each game admission of $15? That could raise almost $2 million or more.

I’m speechless. You guys have got it going on. Congrats!
If the BOR approves in July, you should have the plans complete by when? Is it possible for construction to start this summer?

Don’t forget that your donation can be pledged and paid over 5 years! 3000 people pledging $100/yr for 5 years and we’re there.

It’s two levels, so probably a 45’ x 400’ footprint. 18,500 square feet.iaafan wrote: ↑Tue Jul 02, 2019 7:36 amIt’s the structure in blue. The structure will be around 37,000 square feet. It’s roughly 35x350 (12,250 sqft) each floor. The academic area in the fieldhouse is another 3,400 sqft.
The cost is $18 million. It has lots of extras including a hydrotherapy area, which will set it apart from other similar facilities in the league.

https://mus.edu/board/meetings/2019/Jul ... -R0719.pdfWe are requesting up to $18,000,000 in authority, to include design and other non-construction costs.
Up to $3,000,000 will be financed by the University, which will be repaid with non-state revenues
generated by MSU Athletics. The remainder of the project, approximately $15,000,000, will be
funded from external gifts (donations) to this project.

Thank you for info. So does that mean about 13.5M has been raised thus far from donors and then they need another 1.5M from public to get to 15M and then will finance 3M for a total of 18M. That’s how that seemed to read but must admit it’s confusing. Earlier reports made it sound like 16.5 have been raised already but this seems to negate that.Hawks86 wrote: ↑Tue Jul 02, 2019 4:06 pmhttps://mus.edu/board/meetings/2019/Jul ... -R0719.pdfWe are requesting up to $18,000,000 in authority, to include design and other non-construction costs.

The North End Zone seating is listed on the website as Phase 2 of the Bobcat Stadium renovation, after Phase 1 which is the replacement of the east sideline structure. The renderings kind of look like two similar sized buildings connected by some windows. I could have sworn that when this plan first came out two years ago that it was mentioned that the second building closest to Kagy was a future expansion. But I haven’t been able to find anything about that again.
Edit: I think I answered my own question. According to this picture, the total structure in the end zone will be two separate phases.

I dont see the 320 people donating as a big issue. Im really really impressed that MSU was able to raise that kind of money that quickly. Especially after the big education fundraiser the raised something like 300 mil. The article stated that there would be a big push to get the additional 1.5 mil needed. My mind immediately jumped to the small donation drive that was used to complete the south endzone. The biggest thing I remember was you could text some number and automatically donate $10 (I cant tell you how many cell phones of griz fans I stole at cat/griz that year while they were drunk and texted that number). I believe that was a huge money maker for that final push. Im assuming we will see something similar for this. Probably announced at Gold Rush. Hopefully meet the goal sometime mid season with construction starting just before Christmas after our semifinal win.
Does anybody know how this will make the stadium look? The more I thought about it I think the videoboard will be left exactly where its at right now. That leads to another question; do the two buildings (one is our game day lockeroom) stay in place until the seating in the north endzone is completed? My thoughts are that the new BAC building would sit back enough where those two existing buildings wouldnt necessarily have to be torn down right away. Thoughts???

MSU is financing up to $3 million depending on what other donations come in. I’m not sure how much has been privately raised, but it’s north of $13.5 million (13.8?) and they’re requiring $1.5 million more. So they’d already be under the $3 million ($2.7?) in financing.Grizaddict wrote: ↑Tue Jul 02, 2019 5:51 pmThank you for info. By comparison, UM went to the BOR with $9 million ($7 million of which came from a single donor) and asked for up to $5 million in financing.

Since financing is paid off by revenues from games it’s still considered private.
