EWU gets a big stop. With 5 minutes left in the half, if they can get some points here, they do get the ball first in the second half.

Bad pass!
Can't make up my mind as to which is better - 55-21 or 48-14.

Another critical stop by the EWU D! Eagles get the ball back at their own 40, 3 minutes still I the half.

Chop block seemed ticky-tack but by rule, sure I can see why they called it. Safety on the PI grabbed his jersey. Did it give him an advantage? Who knows? But the rule is in place for a reason. He grabbed jersey and got called.91catAlum wrote: ↑Sat Jan 05, 2019 11:59 amSo you think the PI and chop block were legit then? Interesting.ilovethecats wrote: ↑Sat Jan 05, 2019 11:57 amLol. I honestly don’t know if another fan base is as concerned with the refs as ours is.
If I was eastern, and I know their coaches definitely are; I’d be far more concerned with the fact that after 14-15 games, we still can’t line up correctly.
NDSU is simply a machine
I also think the 2 illegal formations and intentional grounding was legit as well.
But I don’t concern myself with the refs. So far eastern didn’t come ready to play. But that’s just me. I’m interesting!

At first, I thought it was a block when I didn’t see the ball go up and over the line. Fooled me.

I saw no jersey grab on the PI, there was some arm fighting. Tv announcers agree.ilovethecats wrote: ↑Sat Jan 05, 2019 12:20 pmChop block seemed ticky-tack but by rule, sure I can see why they called it. Safety on the PI grabbed his jersey. Chop block was due to a guy falling on the ground, not blocking low. Could've easily not been called but Ndsu gets the call. And it took away a 40 yard play that would've set EWU up in the red zone. This game might be tied right now if not for that.
I agree the illegal formations and that holding were legit. But I've also seen worse holds not called. But again, Ndsu gets the call.

That was the cool part of that play. With the fake kick and then throw forward, it looked like the ball had been kicked. Surprised the ndsu guy was not as fooled as he could have been.

Solid first half from the Eagles! If they can get points on their opening drive after half, they'll be in very good shape. But Ndsu usually wears you down with their run game in the fourth quarter and takes over. Should be interesting.

I felt the first quarter the reffing was horrible but it's been getting better, except for the fact they let NDSU hold on nearly every play.91catAlum wrote: ↑Sat Jan 05, 2019 12:28 pmI saw no jersey grab on the PI, there was some arm fighting. I don’t know if you guys remember playing eastern but they hold on every play too. If it’s not called you’re doing something right.
I just think overall people worry WAY too much about the officiating. In the end players and coaches will decide this game just like every game ever.

Re: 2018 FCS Championship: EWU vs NDSU
EWU needs to play a clean game in second half. Was surprised they got the three and outs on NDSU. My guess NDSU will come out on o and try to run the ball at EWU. EWU has been good at penetrating the NDSU line.
Would love to see EWU win this one.

I will say eastern is playing much better than I thought they could against NDSU. Still don’t think they’ll win but good effort.
I believe MSU is the only squad to have a lead against NDSU in the playoffs.

Pick and pick back. EWU needs to do better. Good to get the ball back though.

Nice to see the EWU tight end Gilder from Corvallis Montana having a good game so far. The only player from the State of Montana on the field in Frisco today.
The State of Montana is Bobcat country.
missoula....still just 20 miles from Montana.
