Disheartening

Post by duelalumnicat » Sun Mar 03, 2013 1:14 pm

According to the Chronicle, with their win against the Bobcats last night, the Grizzly men secured their fourth 20 win season in a row, a new school record. Meanwhile, the Bobcats have won 20 games twice in what? The last 30 years?

I am not sure what the attendance was last night, but it caused my friends and I to reminisce about the old days when the men's Cat-Grizzly basketball game was a big deal, and the Fieldhouse was packed and raucous.

Insert dead horse...
But, yes you are so right.
In the 'olden days' The Cat-Griz basketball game was a wild time.
There was a palpable energy for the men's game.
Too much drinking, fights on the grounds, extra police, people scalping tickets...
No More.
And again, to trod the oh-so-trodden territory, two big reasons:
1) the team is not a winner and hasn't been for quite some time
2) the configuration of the seating.

I was really impressed with the cheer leader at the top of the pyramid doing the splits.
