Former Bobcat (2010) becomes McKinsey&Company consultant

Post by Freecats » Thu Dec 06, 2012 8:04 am

Dear Bobcat fans,

My name is Michel Swita and I was on the men's basketball team during the 2009-2010 season.
After graduating with a BS degree from the States, I went back to Paris to graduate from a top business school and I've recently had the pleasure of accepting a long term internship at McKinsey&Company.

As you may now, McKInsey is the number 1 business consultancy firm in the wold.

My job consists of providing tail made advices to CEO's of major French and American companies such as Google, Chrysler, Renault, Boeing, etc.

I must say that I've learned a lot from my time in the states and that I feel frustrated that I had to end my career because of successive injuries and frustration.

However, if anybody is still supporting the bobcats I'd be happy to share with you my experience at MSU and go into details to explain why this program is collapsing.
Please understand that although my career as a player hasn't been spectacular for various reasons, I think that I do deserve some credit because of my success in my professional career and have some interesting insights to share.

Let me know and I hope the bobcats will beat the grizz tonight!

Wasn't he the really tall center that came in from North Idaho, but had some injury problems?

If this is who you are, would be interested in reading your thoughts on the basketball program. However, if you are only here to use BN as a platform with an ax to grind, not interested.

No worries, I'll just provide you with answers to your questions.

If this helps, I probably need to tell you that I quite basketball also mostly because I had others plans (including McKInsey) than playing ball for the next 10 years.

I propose this gameplan;

1. Analysis of the environement.
Can you recruit real high school/international talents to come play in Bozeman?
Are the facilities "decent enough" to attract good talent?
Is the school attractive enough academically?

2.Coach Huse's footprint;
Preseason training
Practice
Team DNA
Game Strategy
Huse as a boss, a leader, motivator and mentor

3. Perspectives and limits

09-10, the turning point?
What and why did everything go wrong?
How can the program get back into its feet?

If you have any questions, or if you think that I should include anything else into the "game plan', please let me know.

Could you give answers to your questions? It would be nice to know from your experience what you think.

If any of you knew half of the story on this kid you would save your breath. The fact that this board has even made him a relevant source shows how disgusting this board is. Are we happy with the program? No! But atleast let the program and the school handle it. Don't let this clown who didn't even know how to check into the scores table (ya I was at the one game you got in) put the nail in the coffin.

This looks to be more of an advertisement where someone is trying to pimp their consulting work. I don't think anyone here is talking this guy seriously yet. However of he keeps trying to get free advertising I will delete the threads or send an invoice.

guys, I dont pretend to have been able to properly check at the table.
matter of fact, it might have been one of the reasons why I couldn't get into the team's rotation.

what I am saying is that because of my current job, I have the capability of running an interesting analysis of the current situation.

if you're not interested it's ok, I understand that you may not be interested.

however, your accusations of me trying to "pimp" my work a consultant is inaccurate.

like I've said before, my work consists of advising top CEO's in the world, there's nothing I could write here that will "pimp" my resume or increase my salary.

the only thing you could accuse me of is practising my English on this board.

last precision: I'm 26 and Mckinsey doesn't recruit kids.

Interesting thread. If nothing else, this podcast will take on a unique perspective when put in the context of this thread.

McKinsey is a good firm -- congrats on landing the job. Lots of MSU grads get lots of great jobs every year.

And if you can leverage your firm's resources to give us a pro bono report outlining best practice suggestions for improving the MSU basketball program, I'm sure we will be all ears. :D
