Maybe sometime that last week of March. That way it's late enough to have a pretty good idea of rosters/injuries/suspensions, but still allows for a week or so for trades before the season starts.

BTW, when are "keepers" due to be set?

the latest we can draft is mar 25. I've held off on the keeper deadline until the draft gets set

Cool...I'd probably say March 19, 20, or 21 so as to not interfere with NCAA bball tourney (3/22-25) for those who want to draft live.

I'd like to try to draft live this year....how long does it usually take?

since you mentioned the tourney, I set the draft date for the 18th and the keeper date for the 10th. draft pick trading is now in effect.

catblitz...........if you feel like working out some kind of trade again this year I'm all for it

the first trade of the year is on the board.........just something to think about (I also sent an email about it) in trades like this, to keep the players involved you still have to edit your keepers to have those guys on your roster and you still can't keep more than 4

you can't compile 'extra' picks.........there are only 21 (i think) rounds. once you fill your 25 man roster you would be done and if a person was trading picks, I don't think they can have less picks than there are rounds because of espn software. you'd have to send a pick in the deal, i believe, for it to go through

Could I theoretically give Ricky weeks and a 24th round pick and receive a 6th round pick and a no name player that ill end up dropping?

I wish we could place our keeper picks in certain rounds rather than have them take up the first 1-4. the only player I have really worthy of a top 4 round selection is Kershaw. Keeping Phillips and Young means I'd be basically spending 2nd and 3rd rounds picks on them. Seems like a waste. So I'll probably just keep Kershaw and that's it. But then I won't be getting and real 2-4 round talent anyway because everyone will be keeping that talent on their respective teams. There's just no winning for me.

location doesn't matter...if it did everyone would put them at the end

I guess I just don't like having 4 keeper options. The teams that suck or only have 1 to 2 elite players have a much more difficult time to compete and improve year after year.

to me, with a league this large 'normal' keepers are the top 56 players..........that is a pretty good chunk but they should be spread pretty evenly. I think its just a person's preference. Take our trade last year; if we hadn't done it I would have kept both of those guys but in a 10 team league probably neither

I would agree about the trade, but there's just a lack of elite talent when you get past that first 50. You miss on a couple guys and you're potentially screwed forever. Don't mean to sound whiny, and I'm not mad, but the truth is that there's just no way I'll ever contend for a title given the amount of talent locked up in other teams.

I have 3 guys in the top 65 I'd be willing to trade for high(ish) picks.

Starlin Castro SS(Ranked #30)
Carlos Santana 1B/C (ranked #38)
Rickie Weeks 2B (ranked 64)

Addtionally, I'd be willing to explore a trades for my keepers Robinson Cano (11), Carlos Gonsales (12), Hanley Ramirez (15), Prince Fielder (18). But that would have to be a sweetheart deal.

I usually work Sundays. Would it be possible to move the draft back to 6 or 630 or so?

It was an arbitrary time......I'll put up a poll and change the time to yours for convenience
