The Metra looks absolutely disheveled. There is debris all over the heights up Main. Incredible.

The link has a photo from the inside of the Metra. The roof is gone.

Sounds like no one was even seriously injured which seems amazing given the wide spread destruction.

Its not that bad, in the grand scheme of things.

Like you can make Billings look any more trashy as it is.

Thank God no one was injured! How wide is the damage?

I think that's enough of the tornado scares for the summer!

My house got hit pretty hard (about 1.5 miles from Metra). Roof damage (golf ball to raquetball size hail). Neighbors cars totalled pretty much.

Sorry to hear about your house.

My wife had 437 cars with hail damage due to the storm last night in Billings.

P.S. No thanks, and no it isnt.

We live 4-5 blocks from Metra and luckily had no damage. Scary as hell though. Debris was flying over our house and the sound coming from the tornado was unbelievable.

Couldn't disagree with you more Alpha, Billings is fantastic.

The wind damage is pretty local to around the Metra but the flooding and damage from hail is pretty much city wide, if not more.

What is so fantastic about Billings?

The crappy downtown where your constantly accosted by people that REFUSE to work and beg for money?

The wonderful job the city does with its resources like plowing streets in the winter, repairing potholes and bad streets?

The dirty methy feel of Great Falls southern branch?

My personal favorite is the onslaught of broken car windows that happens every spring/early summer.

Like I have said before Browning would be a better, classier place to live.

Hey did you guys hear a tornado hit Billings?

My folks live out in the Heights and suffered hail and wind damage to both house and cars. Tennis ball size hail ripped through the windows and siding. They are both safe, and lucky that the damage wasn't any worse.

I know tornadoes in MT aren't unheard of, but I do not remember any touchdowns during my aware lifetime. Do any of you remember it happening before?

Billings had an F1 tornado sometime in the early 90s, and the last F2 was in the 50s. I haven't heard if they have classified yesterday's tornado yet, but they were thinking it would be an F2.

Didn't a tornado rip through Lewistown a few years ago? Or was that high "straight" winds?

They said it's been 52 years for Yellowstone County.

I think that was for the F2 type. I remember one touching down outside Laurel about ten years ago on the Fourth of July.

That was a high wind storm, things were swirling around but there was no real funnel with that storm, It did quite a bit of damage in town, knocking down trees and such but not nearly as bad as this stome in billings did

It's a blessing it didn't happen the day before at the same time. I don't even want to think how bad that would have been...

Eric Curry STILL makes me sad.
