Sports Bars

Post by CelticCat » Thu Sep 30, 2004 10:40 am

Does anyone know of a GOOD sports bar in or around Bozeman? Spectators is okay, but it always jampacked and I never get there in time to get a seat. The one on main near downtown in the back of that hotel (can't remember the name) has quite a few TVs but they are really small and if you get a seat on the side, it is almost impossible to really see the game without hurting your neck. The Hideaway isn't too bad either except the fact they can't figure out how to get more than 3 NFL games showing at once. It was very very frustrating to have only 3 games on on nearly 12 tvs. The Point After was bought out by Spec's I think and I haven't been there since.

Am I missing any sports bars or is this all I have to work with in Bozeman. I get sick of trying to watch the Rams game and either can't get into the place, they don't know how to get it on TV, or I have to look straight back and to the left to see it.

Cat's Paw is great for NFL on Sundays. The Poor House is an option too (old Point After), cleaned up and non-smoking now. Last, the Black Angus in the back of the Best Western on Main. Good Luck

Yep, Cats Paw has big TV's and everything in front of you. I would definately check that out first. Cheap Food (breakfast) usually too.

I think the real problem lay in the fact that you're trying to watch the Rams!

As being a fan of the second losingest team in the 90s, there isn't anything you can say that will hurt me. :) I've heard it all.

There are lots of TVs and the Rocking R as well. I imagine that places like the Ale Works, Old Chicago, Bennigan's, Applebee's, Mixers, etc., are also places to hang out. I haven't been to Mixers yet, they're advertising football on sundays. It's a new non-smoking nightclub where Little John's used to be.

Haven't been to the Cats Paw?! the words "pitcher beer night" mean nothing to you? How long have you been in Bozeman? Some great times were had at the Paw (early 90's). we're old now, so what do we know anyway. Rocking R isn't the same, too yuppie, however, it is nice.

I, for one, feel the R Bar should be sued to chance its name. The current edition is DEFINITELY NOT the one I spent many memorable nights in during the 80's; and many more that I can't remember!

Speaking of old, how many of you had a drink at Stromboli's, the Molly Brown, The Sundance, The Filling Station, or The Zoo?

Now I'm really dating myself...

'scuse me; the R Bar should be forced to *CHANGE its name.

(Sheesh, you'd think I went to the School of Modern Dance in Missoula...)

I hate the R Bar. Loud music, can't hear yourself talk, too crowded... just bad place to mingle. The Molly is one of my favs, because of the many pool tables. Still haven't gotten around to the Cats Paw (cuz the Rams were on TV last week). I'll probably go Sunday, but it is homecoming weekend, so we'll see how I'm feeling... :)
