The USA Today has just reported something that we've always known...
MSU is better than Harvard!

I think most people around the country are more interested in someone that has merely been to Montana than they are about someone from Harvard. I get flooded with questions anytime I'm out of the Rocky Mtn. region. Even in Seattle, you're a big of a novelty.

Spring Break in Matzatlan we had a few people that wouldn't believe we were from Montana. They thought we were using it as a pick up line. Oh, the glamour that is MSU
Nothing like trudging through 2 feet of snow, twenty below, and walking into Gaines Hall, being held at a balmy 85
Good article, though. I guess my boys won't have to worry too much, since we've predetermined that MSU is the place for them. They can even start dating and driving when they get there.

I shamelessly drop my Montana roots into conversations in almost every personal or business introduction. It gives you something to talk about that you are an expert on, and almost all people find it interesting (either they have been there and love it, or have never been there and are intrigued by it, or got beat up by a kid from there once, or want to know if there are still gunfights at high noon, etc., etc.).
Yeah, being from Montana has worked me through what would have otherwise been many a boring conversations about the weather.

I was just suprised the first time, I never thought that MT was so cool. Now, of course, I understand because.... well....I had to live in Iowa.
