Hummingbird never knew

Post by allcat » Thu Oct 21, 2021 3:59 pm

We just got to our place in Arizona for the winter. We put out some hummingbird feeders. They make a chirping sound when they are by the feeder. I've never heard a hummingbird bird before and never even knew that they made noises.

The hummingbirds are really at home in the desert. Lots of flowers with nectar for them. They fly so fast across the back area that I’m afraid I’ll get one stuck in the side of my head. I don’t know much about them, but there is quite a range of sizes, including size really small ones that seem to fly about the speed of sound. Congratulations on being south for the winter. Go ‘Cats.

About 75% of their involves insects, small insects. They do make feeders that make fruit flies, gnats, etc that you can put fruit into...
