Adventures Around Montana

Post by DriscollCat » Fri Jun 22, 2018 9:44 am

Hey Everyone, my wife and I are starting a youtube channel documenting our adventures around Montana (and beyond).

This summer we have been to Glacier where we saw a baby moose (calf), The Garnet Mountain fire lookout, The Natural Bridge near McLeod MT, Devils Slide, Yellowstone, Beartooth Highway, Virginia City and Nevada City, and the summer has just begun.

We just started the channel two weeks ago, and it takes a while to edit the videos, so we only have two up as of now, but we will be uploading every Sunday evening.

If you want to see some of the great scenery and awesome wildlife that makes this state so great, stop by our channel and check it out!

We just posted our video on our road trip in a day. From Bozeman to the Natural Bridge near McLeod MT, then down Paradise Valley to the Devil's Slide. We saw some deer and got some great footage of a couple of Sandhill Cranes. Check it out!

Laura and I toured through Virginia City and Nevada City. If you make this tour, be sure to stop by the Brewery Follies.

I just posted an awesome video I took last fall of a grizzly bear hunting for ground squirrels. I took it up in the Tom Miner Basin, just outside of Yellowstone.

We made our own Bicycle Brewery Tour around Bozeman. Next time we'll do it on a weekend and be able to add White Dog, Bridger, and Bunkhouse to the list!

Another favorite of mine is the Ross Creek Cedars, up by Bull Lake between Noxon and Libby. Along with the Hiawatha Trail near Lookout Pass on I90.

Since we are so close now one of the treats we want to see is the Hiawatha Trail...

We had a family reunion in Denver the middle of July. We have made several trips to Townsend via the Garrison turnoff in the last few years and then to Placid Lake. Love that drive. But beyond that was a trip to Livingston in maybe 95...The last trip beyond Livingston was maybe 77-78. I had forgot that that drive was so darned beautiful and spacious. The drive through Billings is probably the worst part. Next year we will try to take the 5th wheel through Livingston and down into lower Wyoming and do the tourist thing. Also try to spend a few days visiting Yellowstone. Patti has been into Yellowstone once.
That said, thank you for the videos!!!

We Have! Actually I am originally from Hamilton, and I grew up in a neighborhood just off of Skalkaho highway. We have a video coming up on our trip to the Bitterroot including our trip over Skalkaho and up to Trapper Peak. Look for that in just a couple of weeks!
