sex in schools

Post by briannell » Sun Nov 06, 2005 3:52 pm

any teachers on the site? is this a huge trend going on in MT? I know in CA they are catching even middle school kids on campus behaving sexually during the school hours. sex and kids not new, but wonder how the environments are being monitored. Bozeman school district is well regulated I hope.

I plan to be a teacher some day and I have never heard of anything like this happening in Montana. I really don't know what I would do if confronted with this situation. I think most school districts make sure nothing like this would happen in the schools.

I don't think this should be much of a surprise. Look what the TV shows kids these days. I don't mean to sound like a prude, but some of the shows on TV these days makes me blush. When kids see that on TV, we are only inviting them to behave/dress the same way.

Kids idolize what they see on TV. When the parents aren't intervening, kids--many with emerging hormones and no idea how to control them--see public figures act the way that compliments what their hormones are urging them to act.

Bottom line: kids are only acting the way popular culture is telling them is acceptable.

parents need to step up to the plate and start talking to their kids. kids are sexually maturing at a younger age, parents need to speak freely and openly. the problem with uptight parents is their inability to say penis and vagina to their kids.

Why wasn't this type of thing going on when I was that age? I would have had many more great memories of school.

Precisely! As Letterman said the other night - "Paul, have you seen the studies out that say most of our nation's teenagers don't count oral sex as real sex?... heck - I'd count it."

Sex took place during school hours in my school and that was in the mid to late 80's.

My bet on why they don't call it sex is so they can say they're still virgins (especially the girls IMO).

I agree with speaking to the kids about sex. But, those that are having sex will continue to find ways and places to do it regardless of how tight regulations/restrictions are.

i was just shocked to find out that the 5th grade girls in my moms school were having "oral" parties for the young male classmates! yup I'm old school and am scared what will happen once my boy is in jr high. I know we currently beat girls off with brooms to stay away from my nephews. I hate to say this but it's the girls more aggressive nature that upsets me. young men you expect to chase tail but nowadays the girls are the ones "going for it".

well, i also went to all girl schools, so we didn't have boys around until 17. guess i'm a prude.

oh he'll be PREPARED! gonna show him what happens to calves when they're turned into steers!! which is what will happen if he makes me a grandma before he's married. i say that with love so don't bash me.

he has 4 girlfriends, and he's 6. they kiss his cheeks, hold his hands and fight over him, and this is just on my block!!!! i don't think he cares, but the attention is nice. as a mother you can "see" how hellish his teen years are going to be. my nephews have the same problem.

he looks about 8, he's big, blonde and strong. thank god for now he'd rather play sports and learn horsemanship skills, but that too will change once the hormones kick in. think i'll move into his dorm to scare the co-eds away :D

now my baby girl would just beat the heck out of any boy that tried, so i'm not worried with her [-o<
